WOOD MOISTURE METER

Moist

Upon start-up, you might see other icons which are not available for the

moisture meter. Please ignore them in this case.

KEY PAD(CONTROLS)

PWR:

MODE:

SET:

Turn the meter on/off (press and hold), or just press once for data

hold function.

Display Temperature °C/ °F, relative humidity %, moisture %.

Select wood species group from 1 ~ 4 while displaying Moisture %

(no response when other mode is selected).

OPERATION

(1) POWER ON / OFF

(2) AUTO POWER OFF

To turn on the meter, press and hold the “PWR” button for more than 2

seconds. Press and hold “PWR” button again to turn the meter off.

If no buttons are pressed in a 15 minute period, the meter will

automatically turn off. If a letter “S” is displayed in the top left corner of

the screen, auto power off is activated.

To disable auto power off function, turn off the meter and press and hold

“MODE” + “POWER” buttons until “OFF” shows on the screen. Once this

has been done, release the buttons and the “S” will disappear from the

display.

TAKING MEASUREMENT

1. Remove protective cap.

2. Hold meter firmly and press the pins into the testing material. To

select the correct group of wood species, press “SET” until the desired

number (1-4) is displayed.

SELECT MODE

Press “MODE” button to cycle through the Moisture Temp.(°C)

Temp.(°F) RH functions.

Note: While in %RH mode, the temperature will appear in the bottom left

corner of the display for user reference.

SELECT SPECIES

Moist

There are four (4) groups that contain different categories of wood

species. Check the table below to select the proper group for most

accurate readings.

Press the “PWR” button to freeze a reading. Press the “PWR” button

once more to return the meter to its normal mode.

website. Contact customer service to receive a Return Goods

Authorization number before shipping the product back for repair. Be

sure to include a brief description of the problem plus any additional

application notes.

LOW BATTERY

When the MST2-01 meter experiences low power, it is recommended

to replace the battery with a new CR2032 3V battery . There will be a

“BAT” icon on the bottom right corner of the display when the battery

should be replaced. To replace the battery, use a coin to remove the

cover on the back of the meter. Install the new battery face up (+) in

the battery compartment.
