Inspect the appliance and the accessories carefully to verify their soundness and undamaged condition. Only
perfectly sound and damage-free appliances may be connected to the electrical mains.
Thoroughly clean the mincer and its accessories before first using it. Full instructions are given in the
‘Maintenance and Cleaning’ section of this manual.
Assembling the electric mincer
1. Put the body of the appliance (part no.4) on a stable, flat surface, e.g. a kitchen worktop. Fit the head
(part no.5) into the mounting socket (part no.3) by turning the head slightly clockwise, then turn the head
clockwise again until the locking mechanism clicks.
2. Insert the mincing screw into the head with the longer hollow end of the shaft going in first. Ensure it
connects properly to the shaft inside the appliance; it’s correctly fixed when the screw cannot be turned by
hand.
3. Put the cutting blade (part no.9) onto the square end of the mincing screw (part no.8). One side of the blade
is flat, the other is ridged. These ridges are the sharp edges of the blade. The blade should be placed on the
mincing screw so that the sharp edges are outwards (i.e. next to the cutting disc). Take care to ensure the
square centre hole of the blade fits onto the square stub at the end of the mixing screw. The mincer will not
work if the blade is fitted incorrectly.
4. Choose the appropriate cutting disc (part numbers 10, 11 or 12) and push it against the end of the mincing
screw (part no.8) so that the flat part of the cutting disc is against the sharp edges of the blade (part no.9).
Both sides of the cutting disc have locating pins that fit into grooves on the head (part no.5), which prevents
the cutting disc from rotating when the blade turns.
5. Screw the clamping ring (part no.14) to the head (part no.5) and tighten it firmly but not excessively. The
clamping ring must only be tightened by hand; never use a tool to tighten it.
6. Fit the feed tray (part no.6) to the tube on the head (part no.5) and position it so the tray sits above the body
of the mincer.
7. The mincer is now ready for use. Make sure it is in a well-ventilated area; do not cover the bottom or sides
or obstruct the air flow in any other way. Remove anything below the mincer (e.g. a tablecloth) that could
obstruct the flow of air. Finally, plug the appliance into a mains socket.
Mincing
1. Meat for mincing should be cut into small pieces and placed on the feed tray (part no.6). It can then be fed
from the feed tray through the head (part no.5) to the mincing screw (part no.8).
2. Before switching on, ensure the reversing switch (part no.1) is in the ‘ON’ position.
3. Place a container under the head (part no.5) to collect the minced meat. Switch on the mincer by moving the
3-way main switch (part no.2) to the ‘ON’ position.
4. Push the chopped meat into the hole in the feed tray by using the pusher tool (part no.7).
Do not use any device other than the pusher tool! Never push the food into the mincer using your
hand because there is a high risk of severe injury.
