Using of appliance
Place the appliance on a stable, flat heat-resistant surface before using it. Do not over-fill the
sandwich maker. You should be able to close the upper cooking plate gently without forcing it.
Excess pressure can damage the mechanical components of the sandwich maker, which could
lead to an electrical fault. This type of damage results from incorrect use and is not covered by the
warranty.
Making a toasted sandwich
1. Brushorwipethetoastingplateswithoilorbutter.
2. The toasting plates need to be pre-heated before you place any food in the appliance. To do this, close the
lock (part no.4) and connect the sandwich maker to mains power. The power indicator will glow red when
power is connected and the toasting plates are being heated.
3. When the appliance reaches the correct temperature for cooking, the green heating indicator will light up.
4. Releasethelockandopenthesandwichmaker.
5. Cover one side of a piece of bread with butter or margarine.
6. Placethesliceofbutteredbreadonthelowertoastingplatewiththebutteredsidetouchingtheplate.You
can place a second slice on the adjacent lower plate if you want to make two toasted sandwiches.
7. Put your sandwich filling on the unbuttered (upward) side of the bread.
8. Place a slice of buttered bread on the topping, making sure the plain side is against the topping. The buttered
side should face upwards.
9. Close the appliance carefully, using the lock to fasten the upper and lower plates. Steam can escape from the
sandwichmakerwhenit’sbeingclosed;thiscancauseburnsandmayalsostainnearbyfurnitureorwalls,so

10. After toasting your sandwich for the appropriate time, release the lock and open the sandwich maker. Take
care to avoid being burned by any steam that escapes from the appliance.
11. Use a wooden or heat-proof plastic slice to remove your hot sandwich without damaging the non-stick
coating on the cooking plates.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Warning! Always unplug the sandwich maker and make sure it has cooled down completely
before opening and cleaning it.
Never immerse the appliance in water or hold it under running water.
1. Unplug the appliance from the mains socket.
2. Beforeyoustartcleaning,ensuretheappliancehascooleddowncompletely.
3. Wipethecookingplatesusingasmoothcloththat’sbeenmoistenedwithgentleliquiddetergent.Next,wipe

Finally, dry the plates using a smooth lint-free cloth.
4. Cleantheoutsidecoverwithapieceofchamoisleatherorasmoothlint-freecloththat’sbeenmoistened
with warm water. Dry the cover using a smooth lint-free cloth. Take care not to allow any moisture inside the
casing of the appliance.
5. When cleaning the appliance, never use solvent (acetone, benzole, petrol, alcohol, etc.) as these may solve
the casing material, or the internal parts of the appliance if they get into. Do not use cleaning agents with
coarse or grinding effect.
6. Onlystoretheappliancewhenit’sbeencleanedandhascooleddowncompletely.Werecommendplacing
a piece of clean cloth or tissue paper between the cooking plates when storing them; this will avoid the
non-stick coating being scratched. Do not wind the power cable round the appliance as this can damage the
insulation.Ifyouwon’tbeusingtheapplianceforalongerperiod,putitinaplasticbagandstoreitinadry,
