BEFORE STARTING ASSEMBLY VOR DEM ZUSAMMENBAU • Remove parts from bag. • Entnehmen Sie zur Überprüfung jedes Teil der Verpackung. • Inspect fuselage, wing panels, rudder and stabilizer for damage. • If you find damaged or missing parts, contact your place of purchase. If you find any wrinkles in the covering, use a heat gun (HAN100) and covering glove (HAN150) or covering iron (HAN101) with a sealing iron sock (HAN141) to remove them.
AILERON INSTALLATION•QUERRUDEREINBAU•INSTALLATION DES AILERONS•INSTALLAZIONE DEGLI ALETTONI 1 LL RR Separate the aileron from the wing. Staccare gli alettoni dall’ala 2 The control horns for the ailerons have a longer lower tab than the control horns for the rudder and elevator. Make sure you are using the correct control horns for this section of the manual.
15 Mix a small amount of 15-minute epoxy. Use a toothpick to apply epoxy in the slot for the control horn, and to the area of the control horn that fits into the aileron. Fit the control horn in the aileron. The horn will fit snug in the slot. Use a paper towel and isopropyl alcohol to remove any excess epoxy from around the control horn.
8 LL RR M2.5 x 10 x4 Use a #1 Phillips screwdriver to thread the screw into each of the holes in the wing tip. Remove the screw before proceeding. Usando un cacciavite con testa a croce avvitare una vite in ogni foro all’estremità alare. Togliere la vite prima di procedere.
12 13 LL RR Fit the aileron into position. Position the aileron so the gap at the root of the aileron between the wing, and the gap between the tip of the aileron and the Side Force Generator are equal. Remove the t-pins from the hinges at this time. LL RR Place a T-pin in the center of each hinge. Slide the hinges into the slots in the wing. The t-pin will rest against the edge of the wing as shown. Stecken Sie eine T-Nadel in die Mitte jeden Scharnieres.
AILERON SERVO INSTALLATION•EINBAU DER QUERRUDERSERVOS•INSTALLATION DES SERVOS D’AILERONS•INSTALLAZIONE SERVO ALETTONI 1 LL RR 2 LL RR Secure the aileron servo in the wing with the servo output facing toward the aileron. The servo lead can be retrieved through the wing root as shown. Thread the servo mounting screws into the pre-drilled holes in the wing. Remove the screws, then lift the servo and apply a few drops of thin CA in the holes to harden the threads made by the screws.
4 LL RR 5 x2 Assemble the linkage for the aileron using two ball links and the 2 mm x 50 mm threaded rod. Adjust the length to 211/16 inches (65 mm) as a starting point for the length of the rod. 7 With the aileron servo centered, attach the servo arm to the servo.
7 WING INSTALLATION•MONTAGE DER TRAGFLÄCHEN•INSTALLATION DE L’AILE•MONTAGGIO DELL’ALA LL RR M2 M2 x4 1 2 3 M2 x 10 x4 x2 Adjust the linkage so the aileron is centered and the ball end is aligned with the hole in the control horn. Once set, attach the linkage to the control horn. Position the hardware the same as with the servo arm, sliding the washer on the screw before inserting the screw into the ball end. Tighten the hardware using a #1 Phillips screwdriver and 4mm nut driver.
4 STABILIZER INSTALLATION•MONTAGE DES HÖHENRUDERS• INSTALLATION DU STABILISATEUR•INSTALLAZIONE DELLO STABILIZZATORE 1 A 3 2 A A=A B=B B B Remove the elevators from the stabilizer. Set the elevator and hinges aside. Slide the stabilizer in the fuselage. Center the stabilizer on the fuselage as shown. Align the stabilizer so the distance from the tips of the stabilizer to the wing tips matches on each side. LL RR M4 x 16 x2 Secure the wing panels to the fuselage.
Î NOTICE: Do not cut into the underlying wood. This will weaken the structure and could cause failure in flight. As an option, use a soldering iron or hot knife with light pressure to carefully melt the covering and avoid the potential of cutting into the wood.
7 8 9 RUDDER INSTALLATION• EINBAU DES SEITENRUDERS• INSTALLATION DE LA GOUVERNE DE DÉRIVE• INSTALLAZIONE DEL TIMONE Place a T-pin in the center of the four elevator hinges. Slide the hinges into position with the T-pin resting against the edge of the control surface. Fit the elevators to the stabilizer.
2 3 Use sandpaper to lightly sand the tail wheel wire where it will be inserted into the rudder. Test fit the tail gear wire to the rudder. Make sure the wire is flush with the leading edge of the rudder. If not, lightly trim the slot for the wire to allow the wire to fit flush with the leading edge of the rudder.
6 7 Fit the tail wheel wire to the rudder. Use low-tack tape to hold the wire in position until the epoxy has cured. Align the tape with the bottom of the rudder control horn slot so the control horn can be installed using the same epoxy that was prepared for the tail wheel wire.
10 11 12 15 Wick thin CA into the joint between the fuselage and fin to secure the fin to the fuselage. Do not use CA accelerator, as the CA must be allowed to seep into the joint between the fuselage and fin to guarantee the bond between the two. Prepare the hinges by placing a t-pin in the center of each hinge. Fit the hinges to the rudder, resting the t-pin against the leading edge of the rudder. The rudder can now by placed in position on the fin.
6 LANDING GEAR INSTALLATION•MONTAGE DES FAHRWERK• INSTALLATION DU TRAIN D’ATTERRISSAGE•INSTALLAZIONE DEL CARRELLO DI ATTERRAGGIO M2 M2 x2 1 2 M2 x 10 x4 x2 The installation of the rudder servo follows the same steps as the installation for the elevator servo. Make sure to have the rudder servo connected to the radio system to have it centered when adjusting the length of the rudder linkage. Remove the landing gear fairing from the fuselage. Trim the covering from the screw holes.
3 LL RR 3mm M3 x 3 x2 x2 Insert the axle through the larger main wheel. Secure the wheel to the axle using the wheel collar and setscrew. The tapered edge of the wheel collar will face toward the wheel when installed. Tighten the setscrew using a 1.5mm hex wrench.
7 8 MOTOR AND SPEED CONTROL INSTALLATION•EINBAU DES MOTOR UND REGLERS• INSTALLATION DU MOTEUR ET DU CONTRÔLEUR• INSTALLAZIONE DEL MOTORE E DEL REGOLATORE DI VELOCITA’ LL RR Apply a drop or two of thin CA between the landing gear and wheel pant to keep the wheel pant from rotating.
