KEY SWITCH Located on the dash panel, the key switch (1) enables the basic electrical system of the vehicle to be turned on and off by turning the key. To prevent inadvertent operation of the vehicle when left unattended, the key should be turned to the ‘OFF’ position and removed.

B STARTING VEHICLE ON A HILL To reduce the possibility of roll-back that could result in severe injury or vehicle damage, do not release the service brake until motor has started. Do not hold vehicle on hill by using accelerator and engine. This will cause premature and excessive wear of the drive train components.

BATTERY SUN TOP AND WINDSHIELD Excessive use of accessories may drain the battery and leave insufficient reserve to start the vehicle. The sun top does not provide protection from roll over or falling objects. The windshield does not provide protection from tree limbs or flying objects.

B The painted surfaces of the vehicle provide an attractive appearance and durable protection. Frequent washing with lukewarm or cold water and mild detergent is required to preserve the painted surfaces.

T A tire explosion can cause severe injury or death. Never exceed the inflation pressure rating on the tire sidewall. To reduce the possibility of tire explosion, pressurize tire with small amount of air applied intermittently to seat beads. Due to the low volume of the small tires, overinflation can occur in seconds.

B NOTICE Tire plug tools and plugs are available at most automotive parts outlets and have the advantage of not requiring the tire be removed from the wheel. Valve Stem Cap If the tire is flat, remove the wheel and inflate the tire to the maximum recommended pressure for the tire. Immerse the tire in water to locate the leak and mark with chalk.

HARDWARE Generally, three grades of hardware are used in the vehicle. Grade 5 hardware can be identified by the three marks on the hexagonal head and grade 8 hardware is identified by 6 marks on the head. Unmarked hardware is Grade 2 (Ref. Fig. 22). Periodically, the vehicle should be inspected for loose fasteners.
