Instruction Manual for Battery Backup Harness
Document Version 1.0
Thank you for your purchase! This instruction manual will guide you through the installation and operation of your Battery Backup
Harness. Please read the entire manual carefully before proceeding. If, after you read the manual, you have further questions or
problems, see the Support page on http://www.eagletreesystems.com
for additional information, or email us at
support@eagletreesystems.com.
Supported Products
The Battery Backup Harness works with our MicroPower and Data Recorder products. It allows you to connect a secondary battery to
your Recorder, in case your primary battery or BEC dips below approximately 4.5v frequently, which will cause a “reboot” of the
Recorder.
Packing List
Your package should include the following: Battery Backup Harness, and a printed version of this manual.
Connecting the Battery Backup Harness to the
MICROPOWER
Connect the large (4 pin) end of the Battery Backup Harness
to the MicroPower, as shown in Figure 1. The small
(Futaba style) end of the Battery Backup Harness should
connect to a 4.5v to 6v (4 or 5 cell) battery pack. Since
current draw from the MicroPower is very low, even a very
small battery pack should give long run times.
Connecting the Battery Backup Harness to your Data
Recorder
For Data Recorders, the Battery Backup Harness connects
in the same location and polarity as the USB cable. Please
see the Data Recorder instruction manual for information on
how to connect the Battery Backup Harness.
