PULSE WIDTH
There is a
relationship
be-
tween resolution and
transmitter
pulse
width.
Resolution,
In this
case,
Is the
ability
of a sonar
to
separate targets.
The
shorterthe
pulse
width,
the betterthe sonar's
ability
to
separate targets.
How-
ever,
in
deep
water,
the shorter
the
pulse
width,
the less
likely
a
return echo will be received. In
fact,
the Z-7200
automatically
increases the
pulse
width as the
range
increases. In shallow wa-
ter,
a narrow
pulse
width is bene-
ficial,
since the
probability
of echo
detection
is
high.
For even better
target separation,
the Z-7200
gives you
the
capability
to narrow
the
pulse
width. Combine
that
with
atwentyfoot
zoom and the Z-
7200
