Instructions / Assembly

Tools Needed.
Broom or leaf blower
Mixer with paddle (Larger and more powerful mixers and
paddles are better, especially for larger mixes)
Trowel
For safety purposes, always follow OSHA recommendations such as
wearing safety glasses, gloves and a dust mask or respirator.
Remove any loose dirt, gravel or asphalt from the hole
with
broom
or
blower. If there is water in the hole, attempt to remove as much as
possible. Do not apply when there is significant water in the hole or
when the asphalt is extremely wet.
Shake the bottle of the EarthCo liquid modifier and pour it into the
pail or other mixing container.
Pour approximately one quarter of the bag of dry mix into the
container and mix. Slowly add the remaining dry mix into the
container until you achieve the desired viscosity. You may not
need to add all of the dry mix.
Continue to mix 3 to 5 minutes after all the dry mix has been inserted.
(The mix should be able to be troweled without significant effort.)
If using over asphalt, add the bag of powdered pigment and continue to mix. If
using over concrete, do NOT use the pigment. Due to the wide variances in the
colors of asphalt and concrete, the colors won’t necessarily match. Coating with
a seal coat over the entire surface, including the repaired area, later will provide
consistent color.
If after following these steps, you determine that due to either weather conditions
or other circumstances that the mix is still too stiff, you may add small amounts
of water until the mix is the desired consistency. However, adding too much
water can slow the cure and weaken the mix and/or cause cracking. If you find
that you have made the mix too liquid, let the mix stand for a couple of minutes
before applying.
After properly mixing, pour the mix int
o the pothole, spreading the mixture evenly
over the bottom of the hole and fill to the top. If the hole is large and another
batch mix is required to complete filling the hole, fill the bottom of the hole first
and then apply another layer (from the next batch over the first).

FOR
EARTHCO DRIVEWAY REPAIR
Trowel the top of the material to a smooth surface. Although you can use the
mix to fill depths up to seven inches, it is less expensive to use gravel, stone,
or any other stable aggregate as a filler and then apply the mix in the top two
inches, or so.
