Instructions:
Each package contains one GardenMat
TM
40 with three planting holes that can be used for three
plants. For best result, follow these procedures to make sure your plants receive water from the
GardenMat during drought and in between watering.
Procedure A: If you prepared your flower or vegetable garden bed before you plant your plants,
you may put down the garden mats as early as possible so that it will start catch and save natural
precipitations and maintain a high moisture level in your garden mat. When you are ready to plant
your vegetables or flowers, plant them into the hole of the garden mats. Water your plants by
watering the top of the garden mat when the soil underneath is dry.
Procedure B: If you already started your garden before receiving the garden mats, you may place
the garden mat dry around your plants by using the cut slit in the garden mat. If spacing is not right,
do not stretch the garden mat. It may cause damage to the stem of your plants. Instead, you may
move your plants or let one hole in the garden mat empty and use next hole in the garden mat.
Water your garden mat as often as you would water your plants for the first two weeks. After the
first two weeks, only water your plants when the soil underneath the garden mat is dry.
Procedure C: If you already started your garden before receiving the garden mats, you may soak
the garden mat in a 5-gallon bucket filled with water for 3-5 hours. Then place the partially soaked
garden mat dry around your plants by using the cut slit in the garden mat. If spacing is not right, do
not stretch the garden mat. It may cause damage to the stem of your plants. Instead, you may move
your plants or let one hole in the garden mat empty and use next hole in the garden mat. Water
your garden mat as often as you would water your plants for the first two weeks. After the first two
weeks, only water your plants when the soil underneath the garden mat is dry.
Procedure D: If you want to use GardenMat
TM
in combination with drip irrigation system, use
procedure A or B and let drip irrigation water the top of the garden mat.
