To!Install:!
1. For!EarthMinded™!ba rr e ls;!remove!the!caps!from!the!bottom!drains!on!both!barrels!to!be!
connected.!
For!other!makes;!follow!the!ins tru c tio ns!to!install!bot to m!drains!f irs t.!
2. Connect!the!swivel!end!of!the!Y-valve!to!the!drain!on!the!barrel!that!will!be!easier!to!access!for!
connecting!a!garden!hose,!soaker!hose!o r!d r a in in g !w a t e r.!
3. Link!barrels!by!thread!one!end!of!the!connecting!hose!onto!the!Y-valve!an d !t he !o th e r!end!onto !the!
drain!on!the!second!barrel.!

To!Use:!
• Leave!the!connecting!valve!OPEN!to!allow!water!to!pass!between!the!linked!barrels.!
• CLOSE!the!free!end!o f!the!Y-valve!to!allow!the!b arrels!to !fill.!
• OPEN!the!free!end!of!the!Y-valve!to!access!or!drain!the!water!in!barrels.!!
• A!garden!hose!or!soaker!hose!can!be!connected!to!the!free!end!of!the!valve.!Be#careful#not#to#pull#
on#a#connected#hose#as#it#could#dislodge#the#valve#from#the #barrel.#!

accidental#draining#the#b a rre ls .#
• Winterizing!a!rain!barrel!is!recommended!in!freezing!climates,!disconnect!the!hose!and!open!
valves!to!make!sure!that!water!will!not!free!inside!the!barrel!or!components.!
