Pioneer Dual Direction Rear Tine

LUBRICATION:
Proper lubrication of moving mechanical parts is critical for
proper care and maintenance. Oil the following moving parts at
10 hour intervals using a white lithium grease:
1. Forward and reverse arm assemblies.
2. Forward and reverse engagement levers.
3. Forward and reverse cables.
CLEAN TINE SHAFT:
1. Turn o engine. Engine must be cool.
2. Remove spark plug wire and secure from spark plug.
3. Tip the tiller towards the engine and block it in position
so that it rests on the lower pulley guard and the tines are
exposed.
4. Remove all vegetation, string, wire, and other foreign
material that may have accumulated on the axle between
the tines and transmission housing.
a. It may be helpful to remove tines to ensure all debris is
cleared for optimal performance.
b. To remove tines, loosen and remove bolt and nut on tine
shaft and slide tines o.
5. Tip the tiller back to a level position.
CLEAN WHEEL SHAFT:
1. Turn o engine. Engine must be cool.
2. Remove spark plug wire and secure from spark plug.
3. Remove all vegetation, string, wire, and other foreign
material that may have accumulated on the axles between
the wheels and transmission housing.
a. It may be helpful to remove wheels to ensure all debris is
cleared for optimal performance.
b. To remove wheels, loosen bolt on wheel shaft and slide
wheels o, making sure not to lose the wheel pin on the
shaft.
c. If wheels are dicult to remove, thread a 25mm length
(or longer) M10x1.5 bolt into the wheel hub and rotate
clockwise until the wheel releases from the shaft.

4. Tip the tiller back to a level position.
ENGINE MAINTENANCE
Refer to the engine manual included for information on engine
maintenance. Your engine manual provides information and a
maintenance schedule specic to your engine.
PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASKS
1. Always check oil level before starting engine. Refer to engine
manual for capacity and type of oil to use.
2. Change oil after rst 5-8 hours of operation. Change oil while
engine is warm. Rell with new oil of recommended grade.
3. Check spark plug yearly or every 50 hours of operation.
4. Service air cleaner after use in dusty or extreme conditions.
5. Keep engine and parts clean.
6. Check engine and equipment often for loose nuts and bolts;
keep these items tightened.
STORAGE
PREPARE FOR STORAGE
Follow the steps below to prepare your tiller for storage. Read
your engine manual for detailed instructions on preparing the
engine for storage.
TO PREPARE YOUR TILLER FOR STORAGE:
1. Protect shafts from rust:
a. Remove tines from their shafts.
b. Coat the shafts lightly with axle grease.
c. Replace tines and secure.
