1、Safety Warnings For your safety, please read and follow the following safety warnings: 1、 Do not expose the NVR to any heat sources. 2、 Please make sure the environment is well-ventilated. Do not block the ventilation opening of the NVR. 3、 Keep all liquids away from the NVR. 4、 Ensure that the NVR is provided with the correct supply voltage. Plugging the NVR to an incorrect power source could damage the unit. 5、 Make sure the temperature and humidity of the environment are in optimized level.
2、Hard Disk Installation Notice Please install DVR-specific hard disks recommend by our company. ND-4-1HI series can install a maximum of 1 hard disk. ND-4-2HI series can install a maximum of 2 hard disks. Please make sure the device is turned off before installation. Installation Tool: Phillips screwdriver ND-4-1/2HI series hard disk installation procedure: 1. Unscrew the nuts on the rear panel and then take off the chassis cover. 2.

3、Product Description ND-4-1/2HI series ND-4-1/2HI Front panel： There are three LED indicators on the front panel to show the current device status. The visible angle of the LED indicators is 170°. 5、Turning On / Off the Device 1、Turn On the device After the power line is connected, press the power switch on the rear panel of NVR and then press the power switch on the front panel. Note： Please make sure that the power supply is compatible to the requirement in technical specification. Before you turning on the device, please make sure that you have connected a monitor to the VGA interface on the rear panel, or you won’t be able to see the main menu and set it.
6、Login and Menu Description 1、Login After turning on the device, a login screen will welcome you. Input your User Name and Password then click the “Login” button to Login. (User name is “admin” and password is “12345” by default.) (As shown in the following figure) 2、Menu Description After login the system, right click the screen, and then you will see a menu as shown in the following figure.

3、Main Menu Description Right click the screen, select “Main Menu” and click it. As shown in the following figure: 4、Device Status Move your mouse to the top of the screen, and then you will see a status bar showing the video status of all the channels. Double click the status bar and you will see a window named “Device State” showing all the cameras’ “IP” address, “Device” name, “Record Plan”, and “Record State”.
7、Viewer Settings 1、Select Preview Right click the screen --- click “Browse Set” --- click “Select Preview” to the “Select Preview” window --- select the name of the camera you will view and drag it into a viewing pane to monitor instant video of that camera.
2、View Plan Right click the screen --- click “Browse Set” --- click “View Plan”. With the “View Plan” tab, you can save the current layout. Enter a name in the “Name” field, and then click “OK” to save the current viewing layout.
3、Video Switch Right click the screen --- click “Browse Set” --- click “Video Switch”. With “Video Switch” tab, you can preset switch task in advance which means that after you presetting, the system will switch different viewing layout plans you have saved before automatically.
8、Device Management 1、Video device Right click the screen --- click “Main Menu” --- “Video device”. With this tab, you can add, modify and delete cameras and set schedule.
Click “Add Device”, then click “Search” to enter a new tab showing all the online cameras connected to the NVR, and you can select the camera you will add.
2、Add channel Right click the screen --- click “Main Menu” --- “Video device”. Click “Add Channel”, and then you can set the channel name and stream type of those cameras.
3、Schedule Right click the screen --- click “Main Menu” --- “Video device”. Click “Schedule”, and then you can set “Record Type” (Such as “Time Record”, “Manual Record”, “Motion Record”, “Sensor Record”, “Auto Record”, “Local Sensor”, etc. ), time and so on.
9、Playback 1、Recorder Inquire Right click the screen to enter the “Main Menu”, and then click “Playback” and a new tab “Record Inquire” is created for you to search for video according to “Time”, “Manual”, “Move”, “Probe”, “IVR”, “Recorder Date”, “IP Camera” and so on.
2、Playback a. After you find the video you will playback according to the last step, double click the video name to playback. During playback, you can click the following buttons including “Stop”, “Previous File”, “Slow 1/1”, “Pause”, “Play”, “Quick ×1”, “Next File” and “Snapshot” as you need. b. Besides the way mentioned above, you can also directly playback the video in the viewing pane.
10、Alarm Management 1、Alarm Device Right click the screen to enter the “Main Menu” --- click “Alarm Device” --- click “Alarm Box”. You can add, delete and modify the alarm boxes.
Click “Alarm Box” --- “Linked Alarm Set”, you can set probe and linkage alarm. As shown in the figure below. 2、Local Alarm Settings Enter the “Main Menu” --- “Alarm Management” --- “Local Alarm” to set. As shown in the following figure.
11、Basic Settings 1、Basic Settings Enter the “Main Menu” --- select “Basic Setting” --- “Basic Setting” to configure “Device Name”, “Device Number”, “Language”, “VGA Resolution”, and “Date Format” and so on. As shown in the following figure.
2、Network Settings Enter the “Main Menu” --- select “Basic Setting” --- “Network Setting” to set NVR “IP address”, “Subnet Mask”, “Default Gateway”, etc.
3、Global Parameter Enter the “Main Menu” --- select “Basic Setting” --- “Global Parameter” to set “Device Port”, “Playback Port”, “Current Path”, “Alarm Port”, “Recording Package Time”, “Probe Alarm Duration”, “Move Alarm Duration”, etc. You can also check “Pre-record” and “Forward Service” to enable those two functions as you need.
4、Device Timing Enter the “Main Menu” --- select “Basic Setting” --- “Device Timing” to set the time of the NVR. As shown in the following figure.
12、Network Test Network Test Enter the “Main Menu” and select “Network Test”. Input the device name in “Device detect” or input an IP address you will test in “IP address detect”, and then click “OK” to test.
13、User Management 1、User Management Enter “Main Menu” and select “User Management” to add, modify and delete users.
2、Add New Users When you select “Add”, you will enter a new tab “User Rights” enabling you to add new users and set their rights as you need.
3、Modify User Rights Enter the “Main Menu”, and select “User Management”. Select the user you will modify and click “Modify” to enter “User Rights” to modify password and its rights. 4、Delete Users Enter the “Main Menu”, and select “User Management”. Select the user you will delete and click “Delete” to delete the user.
14、Hard Disk Management 1、Hard Disk Status Enter the “Main Menu” and select “Hard Disk Management”. Then you can see the hard disks’ status. As shown in the following figure: 2、Hard Disk Formatting Enter the “Main Menu” and select “Hard Disk Management”. Select the hard disk you will format and click “Format”. Note: Please backup the data before formatting the hard disk.
3、Hard Disk Sleep Enter the “Main Menu” and select “Hard Disk Management”. Select the hard disk which you will put into sleep status and click “Sleep”. 4、Hard Disk Remove Enter the “Main Menu” and select “Hard Disk Management”. Select the hard disk you will remove and click “Remove”. 15、System Maintainance 1、Log Right click the “Main Menu”, and select “Maintain”. Then select “Log View” to review log according to “Log Type”, “Alarm Log”, “Error Log” and “Operate Log”.
2、System Information Enter “Main Menu” and select “Maintain”. Then select “System Info” to review information about the system.
3、System update Enter “Main Menu” and select “Maintain”. Then select “Update”. 4、Restore Default Settings Enter “Main Menu” and select “Maintain”. Then select “Default Settings”. 5、System Reboot Enter “Main Menu” and select “Maintain”. Then select “Reboot”. 6、System Shutdown Enter “Main Menu” and select “Maintain”. Then select “Shutdown”.
