UPS System Installation

Installation Checklist
o All packing materials and restraints have been removed from each cabinet.
o The UPS cabinet is placed in its installed location
o All conduits and cables are properly routed to the UPS and any ancillary cabinets.
o All power cables are properly sized and terminated.
o Neutral conductors are installed.
o A ground conductor is properly installed.
o Building alarms are wired appropriately. (Optional)
o LAN drops are installed. (Optional)
o LAN connections have been completed. (Optional)
o The REPO device is mounted in its installed location and its wiring is terminated inside the
UPS cabinet. (Optional)
o A jumper wire is connected between pins 3 and 4 on the REPO terminal block if using a normally-closed
REPO switch. (Optional)
o Internal battery strings are connected after all other wiring is complete.
o All terminal cover plates are installed.
o Accessories are mounted in installed locations and wiring is terminated inside the UPS cabinet. (Optional)
o Air conditioning equipment is installed and operating correctly.
o The area around the installed UPS system is clean and dust-free. (Eaton recommends that the UPS be
installed on a level floor suitable for computer or electronic equipment.)
o Adequate workspace exists around the UPS and other cabinets.
o Adequate lighting is provided around all UPS equipment.
o A 120 Vac service outlet is located within 7.5 meters (25 feet) of the UPS equipment.
o Startup and operational checks are performed by an authorized Eaton Customer Service Engineer for parallel
systems or installations with accessory cabinets.
Parallel System Installation Checklist
o Each cabinet in the parallel system is placed in its installed location.
o All conduits and cables are properly routed to the UPSs and to the parallel tie cabinet.
o All power cables are properly sized and terminated.
o Neutral conductors are installed between cabinets as required.
o ground conductors are properly installed.
o CAN wiring between the UPSs is properly installed.
o Pull chain wiring between the UPSs is properly installed.
o Adequate workspace exists around the UPSs, parallel tie cabinet, and other cabinets.
o Startup and operational checks are performed by an authorized Eaton Customer Service Engineer for parallel
systems.
