Advanced Boot Configuration
The Switched ePDU offers advanced configuration options using the serial interface.
To access these options:
1. Establish a serial connection to the Switched ePDU (follow the steps in
Chapter 7, “Initial Configuration” on page 27).
2. If the Switched ePDU is connected to a power source, log in and go to the Main
Menu, then select option 6 to do a Soft Reboot. If the Switched ePDU does not
have power, connect it to a power source.
3. As the Switched ePDU boots, it should display the following text. At the prompt
to “Press any key in 5 seconds to change these settings,” quickly press the m
key.

Press any key in 5 seconds to change these settings.
4. To enter the boot setup, press the m key again to modify the settings. The
Switched ePDU prompts you for the root password. This password is the same
as the Admin password (the default is ipc).
5. The Switched ePDU prompts you to confirm each one of the advanced settings.
The previous value for most of the settings is included at the end of the prompt
between [braces]. Press [Enter] at the prompt to accept the previous setting.
Table 30 describes the settings in the following sample menu.
