Troubleshooting Guide

MUST BE INSTALLED AND USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ELECTRICAL CODES.
WARNING:
Turn circuit breaker OFF or remove fuse(s) and test that power is off.
CAUTION:
• Use only copper wire with this device. Do not use with aluminum wire. When installing these devices, a
neutral wire is required for the outlet.
• Only a single branch circuit should supply this device.
• Use only appropriate Class 2 connectors with interconnecting cables.
• The Class 2 output connections are not intended for supporting products or appliances.
• Any output cable connected to the Class 2 outputs is to be routed away from the receptacle outlet slots
or an inserted attachment plug blades into receptacle outlet.
DESCRIPTION:
The USB Receptacle is a device that provides AC power in one receptacle and 5V - 0.7A DC on the USB
connector for purposes of charging Portable/Mobile devices. The USB ports are for charging purposes only
and not data transfer.
When equipment is being charged, the green LED on the face of the device will be ON and when the
equipment is fully charged the green LED will turn OFF.
TO INSTALL:
1. Suitable for installation in outlet box measuring a minimum 3” x 2” x 2-1/2” deep and wired in accordance with NEC article 314 box ll
requirements.
2. Verify Power is OFF before installation
3. Strip wires to the length of strip gauge on the back of the receptacle.
4. This device must be properly grounded for shock protection. Per NEC 250.146(B), an automatic grounding clip will establish grounding contact
between receptacle and grounded metallic box without a jumper. For non-metallic boxes connect green or bare grounding wire to green colored
terminal screw.
5. Connect hot line (black) wire to black colored screw and neutral wire (white) to silver colored screw. Wires can be connected using one of the
following methods:
To Use Wire Clamps: Insert stripped wire between the wire clamp and terminal and tighten the screw to 14 inch – lbs. Wire clamps accept up
to #12 AWG copper wire.
To Use Terminal Screws: Wrap stripped wires ¾ turn clockwise under heads of screws and tighten the screws to 14 inch – lbs. Terminal
screws accept up to #12 AWG copper wire.
6. Attach wallplate and then restore power.

DESCRIPTION :
La prise USB est un appareil qui fournit une alimentation en C.A. sur une des prises et 5 V C.C. sur le connecteur USB an de charger des
appareils portatifs ou mobiles. Les connecteurs USB servent uniquement à charger, pas au transfert de données.
Quand un équipement est en train d’être chargé, la diode verte située sur l’avant de l’appareil s’allume et elle s’éteint quand l’équipement est
rechargé à fond.
