2.6 Acquire Parameters
In the Acquire mode, several parameters are displayed to assist in judging the quality of the cast
data and for managing data storage.
Memory/casts: This parameter displays the percent of memory available for cast data
storage, and the number of casts collected. The amount of memory available should
alert the operator to the possibility of running out of memory once the number of
stored casts begin to approach the upper limit of 10. Casts can be deleted once the
data has been uploaded to a computer in order to free up memory space.
Depth: Moving the cursor to the Depth position and pressing Enter results in only the real-
time depth value being displayed in large (multi-line) characters in the display.
Pressing any key will cause the display to revert to the Acquire Menu.
Velocity: Pressing the Enter key with Velocity selected will result in the speed of sound
being displayed in large characters. Pressing any key will cause the display to revert
to the Acquire Menu.
View All: Selecting View All causes the display to show both the velocity and depth data on
a line by line basis (3 lines displayed at a time) scrolling up from the bottom of the
screen.
The same information shown in the View Cast screen can be accessed later by going to the Main
Menu and selecting Review. Using the arrow keys, position the cursor opposite Review and press
the Enter key.
