TROUBLESHOOTING

Rotor does not turn
Obstructed discharge
Use branch or similar object to clear
discharge.
Plugged rotor Clear rotor.
Hard to feed chipper
Obstructed discharge
Use branch or similar object to clear
discharge.
Dull chipper blades Sharpen blades.
Improper blade clearance Adjust clearance.
Chipper requires excessive power
or stalls
Obstructed discharge
Use branch or similar object to clear
discharge.
Plugged rotor
Clear rotor, feed material into chipper
more slowly.
Green material will not discharge
Alternately feed dry material, or allow
material to dry.
Drive belts squealing or smoking
Plugged rotor Clear rotor.
Loose or worn belts
Adjust belt tension or replace belts if
needed.
PTO will not turn or has slow
RPMs
PTO shaft not engaged on tractor Engage PTO.
PTO shaft loose Check all connections and repair if needed.
Vibration while running
Drive shaft vibration
Check drive belts and pulleys for bad or
worn spots. Check PTO shaft for wear.
Inspect rotor for broken or missing chipper
blades and paddles. Repair if needed.
Rotor out of balance
Check rotor to see if it wobbles.
Check to see if rotor is assembled
correctly.

or the factory for service problems with the machine.
