Warning and Attention Symbols You must be aware of safety when you install and use this system. This User Guide provides various procedures. If you do some of these procedures carelessly, you could injure or kill yourself or damage equipment or property. Some other procedures require special attention.

Do not use the apparatus near water. Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Use only with the cart, stand tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus.
Important Safety Information, continued 20 Do not overload wall outlets or extension cords; this can result in a risk of fire or electrical shock. 21 Never insert objects of any kind into the XiP110 through openings, as the objects 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts. This could cause fire or electrical shock. Do not locate the antenna near overhead light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits.
Important Safety Information, continued If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • • • • Reorient or relocate the antenna assembly. Increase the separation between the equipment. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the XiP110 is connected.
XiP110 The XiP110 delivers the next-generation of TV content, including multimedia services over IP-based networks, with high-definition television (HDTV) and standard-definition (SD) programming. The XiP110 uses cabling within the dwelling to connect to the receiver and delivers content from that receiver through the XiP110. Content includes live, paid, and DVR programming. Four XiP110s may be connected to a receiver. The XiP110 enhances the whole-home TV experience.
XiP110, continued The front and back panels of the XiP110 are provided below.
SAT Mode To use the features described in this section, make sure you are in SAT mode by pressing the SAT Mode button. Use SAT Mode to control the XiP110. Note: Some features may not be available depending on your particular model.
TV Mode To use the features described in this section, make sure you are in TV mode by pressing the TV Mode button. Remote programming is required. Note: Some features may not be available depending on your particular model.
DVD Mode To use the features described in this section, make sure you are in DVD mode by pressing the DVD Mode button. You can use this mode to operate a Blu-ray disc player (BD) or VCR. Remote programming is required. Note: Some features may not be available depending on your receiver model.
Connecting to Home Video Network The XiP110 uses your home’s built-in cabling to communicate to the host receiver. Once the XiP110 is connected to your home’s network, it uses the content and features of the receiver to display programming on another HDTV in the home. 1 RG-6 Cable Home Video Network Port 2 Home Network Connect one end of the RG-6 coaxial cable provided with your XiP110 to the HOME VIDEO NETWORK port on the back of the XiP110.
Connecting to TV 1 2 3 4 OR Connect cable(s) to the appropriate connection on the back of the XiP110. The XiP110 supports HDMI or RCA connections. Connect the other end of the cable to the appropriate input of your HDTV set or monitor. Turn on the XiP110 and TV. Change your TV to the correct input or source. Consult your HDTV user’s guide for assistance. Confirm that you are receiving a picture from the XiP110. If you do not see a picture, refer to Troubleshooting on page 15.
Insert the Batteries 1 2 3 Pull the remote battery cover off. Insert 4 AAA batteries, making sure to match the plus (+) ends with the plus markings on the battery case. Replace the remote battery cover.
Linking the Remote 1 2 3 HOLD FOR RESET SYSTEM INFO Touch POWER on the front panel of the XiP110. Touch SYSTEM INFO on the front panel of the XiP110. System Info screen displays. Verify that your remote control is listed on the right-hand side of the screen. If the remote control is not listed, press and release SAT . 4 Verify that the remote is now linked by pressing several different remote buttons.
Linking to the Receiver To view programming, link the XiP110 to the receiver using the following procedure. 1 2 Press MENU. Highlight Network Settings and press SELECT. 3 Highlight MoCA Settings and press SELECT. 4 Highlight the XiP110 that you want to link and that is marked as unlinked in the MoCA Detected Thin Clients list. 5 Press SELECT to link it to the network. 6 Status changes from Unlinked to Linked. 7 Highlight Save and press SELECT.
Securing XiP110 to the Base Secure the XiP110 onto the included base, even if the XiP110 is sitting on a shelf or table. Note: If you want to mount the base to a surface, see Mounting the XiP110 on page 12. Vertical 1 Decide if the XiP110 is be secured to the base horizontally or vertically. Horizontal 2 Position the base accordingly (see position designations on the base). Horizontal HORIZONTAL MOUNTING VERTICAL MOUNTING Vertical 3 Align the pegs on the base with the XiP110.
Mounting Options for the XiP110 If you prefer to mount the XiP110, it can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The base can be mounted with screws into a surface either vertically or horizontally. Mounting the Base to a Surface Horizontally 1 Place the base onto a flat surface. Mount the base into the surface with four screws into the base corners. Base Screw Holes Base Screw Holes 2 Secure the XiP110 into the base (see Securing XiP110 to Base on page 11).

Mount the base into the surface the with four screws into the base corners. Base Screw Holes 2 Secure the XiP110 into the base (see Securing XiP110 to Base on page 11).
Locating the Remote The next time you misplace the remote control or wonder where it is, try the Locate feature. 1 LOCATE REMOTE Touch LOCATE REMOTE. 2 Find the remote for this XiP110 in the list of remotes on the right-hand side of the System Info screen. Your current remote is indicated in this list by a green dot. 3 Select the Locate option next to the remote listed. Press SELECT.
Troubleshooting Use this information if you have a problem using the XiP110. To solve a particular problem, do the following: • • • • Find the information that relates to the problem you are experiencing. Try the suggested solution for that problem. Make sure your remote control has fresh batteries. If you see the Remote Battery Low warning on your TV screen, it is time to change the batteries. Make sure you have a direct line of sight between the remote and the XiP110. Visit www.dish.com.
Troubleshooting, continued My remote is not working. What to do: Verify the batteries are installed according to the diagram inside the remote control’s battery compartment. Try changing the batteries in the remote control. Batteries should all be of the same type and size. Confirm your remote is in the correct mode for the device you want to control. For example, to control your XiP110, press SAT on the remote before the function you want performed.
Troubleshooting, continued When you try to enter TV programming mode, all the Mode LEDs flash. What to do: Replace the batteries (see page 8). You are unable to change the parental controls from the XiP110. What to do: Parental controls can only be created or changed from the XiP813 receiver. My PIP (Picture-In-Picture button isn’t working. What to do: PIP is not an available feature for the XiP110. There are no parental controls on the programming.
Limited Warranty This Limited Warranty is a legal document. Keep it in a safe place. Remember to retain your Bill of Sale for warranty service! Any items returned without a copy of the Proof of Purchase will be considered out of warranty. What the Warranty Covers This warranty extends only to the original user of the equipment and is limited to the purchase price of each part. EchoStar Technologies L.L.C.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL ECHOSTAR’S LIABILITY, IF ANY, EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID FOR THIS SYSTEM.
DISH Network Exchange Program DISH Network offers two options if you need to replace your satellite receiver equipment or its accessories. Advance Exchange Program The Advance Exchange Program allows you to have replacement equipment shipped immediately to you (depending upon where you live, it could take three to five business days). Along with replacement equipment, you will receive a prepaid shipping label and instructions on how to return the defective equipment.

Residential Customer Agreement, con’t 1. THE DISH NETWORK SERVICE A. Services Defined. “Services” shall mean all video, audio, data, interactive and other programming services and all other services that are currently available from DISH Network (whether subscription, pay-per-view or otherwise) and that we may provide to customers in the future. B. Minimum Programming Levels. If your applicable Promotion Agreement specifies required minimum programming, you must subscribe to such programming.

Any notice required or permitted to be given by us under this Agreement may be provided via the mail, on your bill, as a bill insert, via broadcast on a television channel, through publication on the website set forth at the top of this Agreement, by telephone, or by any other reasonable means. If we send you notice by mail, on your bill or as a bill insert, it will be considered given the day after it is deposited in the U.S.
