3 For Network Authentication, choose Open.
4 For Data Encryption, choose Disabled.
5 Tap OK. Your settings are saved.
Load a Certificate
To use transport layer security (TLS) with WPA or 802.1x security, you need a unique client certi-
cate on the computer and a trusted root certicate authority (CA) certicate. Certicates are pieces
of cryptographic data that guarantee a public key is associated with a private key. They contain a
public key and the entity name that owns the key. Each certicate is issued by a certicate authority.
1 Start ecom instruments Settings.
2 Go to Start > Settings > System > Intermec Settings.
3 Tap Communications > 802.11 Radio > Certicates. The
Certicates screen appears.
4 To import a certicate chain:
a Tap Import Certicates to install the selected certicate.
b In the CertImportUI screen, tap the <<< button next to the
Select pfx to import text eld.
c Select the root certicate from the list.
d Tap Import Certicate.
5 To import user and root certicates from a Microsoft IAS server:
a Tap Import Certicates.
b Tap Web Enrollment.
c Enter the User, Password, and Server (IP address) to log into
the server.
d Tap OK. A dialog box appears asking if you want to load the
root certicate.
e Tap OK. The Enrollment Tool message box appears telling you
that the certicate has been added.
f Tap OK to close the message box.
