Chapter 10 Prompt Information
10.1 Physiological Prompt
Message
Cause
SpO
2
No Pulse
The signal of the measurement site is too weak due to insufficient
blood supply and environmental factors, so the monitor can‘t detect
the pulse signal.
SpO
2
Desat
SpO
2
measuring value is below the SpO
2
Desat Limit.
10.2 Technical Prompt
Message
Cause
Action Taken
SpO
2
SpO
2
Sensor Off
SpO
2
sensor may be
disconnected from the patient
measuring site.
Or SpO
2
sensor may have
malfunction.
Make sure the sensor is well
connected to the patient‘s finger
or other parts. Make sure the
monitor and cables are well
connected.
Or replace the SpO
2
sensor.
SpO
2
Sensor Err
Malfunction in the SpO
2
sensor or in the extension
cable.
Replace the SpO
2
sensor or the
extension cable.
SpO
2
No Sensor
No SpO
2
sensor was
connected to the monitor.
Make sure the monitor and sensor
are well connected, reconnect the
sensor.
SpO
2
Low Perfusion
The pulse signal is too weak
or the perfusion of the
measurement site is too low.
Reconnect the SpO
2
sensor and
change the measurement site. If
problem exists, please notify
biomedical engineer or
manufacturer‘s service staff.
SpO
2
Noisy Signal
There is interference with
SpO
2
measurement signals
due to patient movement,
ambient light, electrical
interference or else.
Check the condition of patient
and avoid patient movement;
make sure the cable is well
connected.
SpO
2
Light
Interference
Ambient light around the
sensor is too strong.
Reduce interference of the
ambient light and avoid sensors
exposure to strong light.
