To tune the FM radio
On the unit or on the remote control press the ‘
Menu
’ button once and the letters ‘S E C H’ (search) appear on the LCD readout.
Now press the button marked ‘Select’. The system will auto search, locate the strongest radio signals and will auto-preset 18 channels.
Once set, pressing the button marked ‘ ’ or marked ‘ ’ will select sequentially the preset FM frequency. The presets are identified
in through three groups each group with 6 preset channels ‘1-6’, ‘2-6’ and ‘3-6’. To access each group, press the ‘FM’ button on
the remote control and then press the numeric button 1 through 6 to access a specific preset radio station.
To manually tune the system, press on the remote control either the ‘ ’ or the ‘ ’ button. The radio frequency will be advanced forward
or backwards in frequency increments of 0.1MHz. if the ‘ ’ or the ‘ ’ button is held down the frequency will scroll up or down
continuously until the button is released. Pressing and holding down a numeric key for approx 3-5 seconds will assign the manually
selected radio station against that group and number. Note that the FM radio signal strength is shown by the signal strength indicator
on the LCD read-out.

The ‘On the Go’ encore has been designed to play audio from 3 independent input sources – iPod / iPhone, FM radio and
Aux input – allowing connection to a variety of MP3 players, MP3 enabled phones and other digital audio devices. A full function
remote control is housed into the unit and can be removed from the ‘dock’ simply by pulling up and removing the remote from the
dock. The dock provides a convenient place to transport and secure the remote control during transit or storage.
Before operating, release the foldaway stand, press the indentation marked “ ” on the rear of the unit. The rear stand and the
iPod / iPhone dock will spring slowly outwards. The ‘On the Go’ encore is now ready for use.
Plug the DC power jack into the rear socket of the ‘On the Go’ encore – marked ‘DC IN’ and then plug the wall adaptor into a
power socket. Press and hold down the power on/off button for approximately 5 seconds to power on the ‘On The Go’ encore.
The LCD readout will illuminate and remain on.
The ‘On the Go’ encore has a built-in rechargeable LI-ion battery. When fully charged the battery at a nominal volume setting
will allow operation for up to 20 hours. This may of-course vary due to user operation. The battery can be recharged to full in approximately
4 hours. Another battery saving function is that of the shut down of the remote control circuitry. This occurs 48 hours after
the system was turned off. The system can only be powered on by pressing the power on/off button for approximately 5 seconds.
Once powered on, all functions are reactivated.
Warning:
1. There exists danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced! DO refer battery rdplacement to qualified service personal only!
2. DO NOT throw away used batteries in the household garbage but give them to collection stations or special waste depots for recycle.
3. DO NOT expose the battery to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
Operating with an iPod / iPhone
Choose the plastic insert that suits your iPod / iPhone and insert into the dock recess. Insert the iPod / iPhone into the dock ensuring
that the connector has been inserted correctly and that the iPod / iPhone sits firm on the connector in the dock itself.
On the top panel, press the input button until the icon ‘iPod’ is displayed on the LCD readout. Alternatively press the button
marked ‘iPod’ on the remote control to select.
Press the play / pause button on the ‘On The Go’ encore or press the play / pause button on the iPod itself or press the play / pause
button on the remote control to start the music playback. Audio volume can be adjusted by the + / - volume controls on the unit
or on the remote control.
The functions of the ‘On The Go’ encore allow for full control and navigation of the iPod. Press the ‘menu’ button on either the
unit or the remote control. Track forward or backwards; scroll up or down; select menu; scroll down the iPod menu for selection or con
tinuously to navigate the iPod menu.

FM Operation
To Listen to FM radio
On the top panel, press the input button until the letters FM are displayed on the LCD readout. You can select the FM function by
pressing the FM button on the remote control. An FM radio frequency will also be displayed.
Depending on the region where you are operating the ‘On The Go’ encore you will need to first tune the system to the region. On the
unit or on the remote control press the ‘menu’ button twice. The letters ‘LC’ will be displayed. Press the ‘select’ button to scroll
through and locate the applicable setting for your region – US (North America), EU (Europe), CH (China), AS (Asia) and JP (Japan).
Once selected and the antenna extended for optimum reception the ‘On The Go’ encore is ready to receive available FM radio frequencies.
Audio volume can be adjusted by the + / - volume controls on the unit or on the remote control.
Alarm-on / snooze function
On the remote control, press the button marked ‘
alarm on/off
’. Press once more and the LCD read-out will display and alarm
bell icon and the letters ‘Zz’. This ‘alarm-on / snooze-mode’ function provides a wake up at the required time ‘and’ when any button
is pressed on the remote control provides a 10 minute ‘snooze’ prior to the alarm switching on once more. The volume of the
system will gradually increase until any button on the remote control is pressed.
Alarm-off function
On the remote control, press the button marked ‘
alarm on/off
’ until the alarm bell icon or alarm bell and Zz icon disappears.
The alarm function has been disabled.
Wake to iPhone, FM or Aux-in audio
By pressing the button marked ‘
alarm to
’ on the remote control the wake-up source (iPhone, FM or Aux-in) can be selected. When
FM wake-up source has been selected a preset radio frequency can be selected by pressing either ‘
adj-
’or ‘
adj+
’.
Sleep function
With the system operating, on the remote control reputedly press the ‘
sleep
’ key. The LCD readout will display ‘00’ ‘10’ ‘20’ ‘30’
‘40’ ‘50’ and ‘60’ minutes. Once a ‘sleep time’ has been selected the system will switch off automatically after ‘10’ ‘20’ ‘30’ ‘40’
‘50’ or ‘60’ minutes of playing. Selecting ‘00’ will turn the sleep function off.
AUX In function
On the top panel, press the input button until the letters AUX are displayed on the LCD readout. You can select the AUX function by
pressing the AUX button on the remote control. On the rear of the unit is a 3.5mm LINE IN connector. Insert the 3.5mm jack of the
(cable supplied with the system) into the LINE IN connector. Then connect the cable to the LINE OUT of any other digital device. Audio
volume can be adjusted by the + / - volume controls on the unit or on the remote control. Note that the functionality of the connected
digital device cannot be controlled by the ‘On The Go’ encore when connected to the LINE IN / AUX mode.
Normal alarm function
On the remote control, press the button marked ‘
alarm on/off
’. On the LCD readout an ‘alarm-bell icon’ will appear. The ‘On
The Go’encore alarm is now set. Press the ‘ON/OFF’ button to turn off the system. When the alarm sounds at the preset time pressing
any button on the remote control will switch off the alarm function. Note that the volume of the system will gradually increase until
any button on the remote control has been pressed.
