• Fliesystem Check
If you have a fault with your hard disk this will report any errors to you and will try and fix any errors
found.
1. Navigate to the desired HDD option and press the OK button.
2. By pressing the Red button you will filesystem check the hard disk.
!!! WARNING !!! this takes ages to complete, so DO NOT reboot your box while it is happening!
2-2-9. Network
This allows you to stop and start certain network features.
The features you can stop/start are: FTP, NFS, VPN, Samba and etc..
Optimuss OS is integrated with standard 10/100Mbps Ethernet with RJ 45 connector standard.
You are recommended to use this network capability of Optimuss OS to fully enjoy the system.
Adapter settings
- Use interface
: "YES" is used to activate the Ethernet. If you set this option at "NO", the Ethernet will not work.
- Use DHCP
: "YES" is used to use DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). If you set this option at
"YES", it will automatically detect the correct IP address. "NO" is used when you want to use a certain
fixed IP address. In this case, you need to enter correct addresses in each field.
Manually setting an IP address
These settings are only needed if you have selected “no“ on the “Use DHCP“ option before.
- IP Address
: You can assign any IP address to you Optimuss
OS. The only expecting is the 192.168.0.1 IP since
it usually is reserved for you internet router and
should there for not be used.
Free IP addresses: 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.254
- Netmask
: Enter the subnet mask which usually is
255.255.255.0
