Series 8700 / 8800 Unitized Curtain Wall Installation Instructions
7. At jamb conditions of the unit stack joint, an end dam is pre-installed. Special care is needed to ensure the end dam is properly sealed and marries into the
perimeter sealant correctly. See Figures 131 - 132.
8. Place a piece of backer rod between the end dam and the jamb. The backer rod will run from the front face of the end dam to the engagement leg. Run a
bead sealant between the end dam and the jamb. Tool the sealant to create a water tight seal between the end dam and the frame. See Figure 130.
9. Insert a piece of backer rod between the end dam and the condition and seal over the top of backer rod and down the front of the end dam. See Figure 131.
Marry the two sealant lines together across the top of the end dam.
10. Insert backer rod around the rest of the perimeter and run perimeter sealant at the jamb. Ensure that the sealants all marry together to create a water tight
seal. See Figure 132.
