3. Wear gloves to hold the spool base
with one hand, and, with the other
hand, use a 1/2” (13mm) manual
socket wrench to turn the hexagon
nut counterclockwise to loosen it
(Fig. 25 & 26).
4. Hold the spool base and pull it
straight out from the motor shaft
(Fig. 27).
5. Remove the flange from the base
and save for later use it to secure the
new trimmer head (Fig. 28).
