PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
When trimming, the
trimmer head does
not advance line.
The drive shaft or trimmer
head is bound with grass.
Stop the string trimmer, disconnect
the power cord and then clean the
drive shaft or the trimmer head
thoroughly.
There is not enough line on
the spool.
Disconnect the power cord and
replace with new cutting line; refer
to "LINE REPLACEMENT" section in
this manual.
The trimmer line is tangled
in the trimmer head.
Disconnect the power cord and
reload the cutting line; refer to
"LINE REPLACEMENT" section in
this manual.
The trimmer line is too
short.
Disconnect the power cord and pull
the lines manually while alternately
pressing down and releasing the
trimmer head.
When trimming,
grass wraps around
the trimmer head.
Cutting tall grass at ground
level.
Cut tall grass from the top down,
removing no more than 8 inches in
each pass to prevent wrapping.
When trimming, the
line-cutting blade
on the guard cannot
cut the line.
The line-cutting blade on
the guard has become dull.
Sharpen the line-cutting blade with a
le or replace with a new one.
Cracks on the
trimmer head or
the spool retainer
comes loose with
upper cover.
The trimmer head is worn
out.
Before further use, replace with
a new trimmer head; refer to "
TRIMMER HEAD REPLACEMENT"
section in this manual.
