Chapter 6 Glossary Adobe RGB This is a definition of the practical RGB color space proposed by Adobe Systems in 1998. The color reproduction range (color gamut) is broader than sRGB, and is highly adaptable to such fields as printing etc. Gamma Generally, the monitor luminance varies nonlinearly with the input signal level, which is called “Gamma Characteristic”. A small gamma value produces a low-contrast image, while a large gamma value produces a high-contrast image.
