Wide Format for Creative Work
These widescreen monitors’ abundant features make
them ideal for creative professionals working with
both still and moving images. They have 178° view-
ing angles, enabling users to view images from any
position. Their 1920 × 1200 native resolution offers
the display equivalent of two A4 sheets of paper with
work space to spare for managing toolbars and com-
mand pallets when working with web code, spread-
sheets, CAD or photos.
Wide Color Gamut
The FlexScan
SX2462W and
SX2262W repro-
duce 98% and
95% of the Adobe
RGB color space
respectively,
allowing them to
display almost
every possible
color in photos
taken in a digital
camera’s Adobe
RGB mode. It
also has an sRGB mode to accurately reproduce
this narrower but commonly used color space. This
ensures that colors meant for sRGB, such as those
used on web pages and photos taken with a digital
camera in sRGB mode, will be reproduced on the
screen as intended.
Detailed Color Control
The OSD menu as well as
bundled and downloadable
utility software offer adjust-
ment of brightness, gamma,
saturation, hue, gain and color
temperature from 4,000 K
to 10,000 K in 500 K incre-
ments. The hue and saturation
settings for individual col-
ors — red, green, blue, cyan,
magenta, and yellow — can be
adjusted independently.
More Effective Software Calibration
In creative design
work, software cali-
bration is typically
necessary to achieve
accurate color values.
These monitors, how-
ever, already provides
extensive color adjust-
ment functions in the
OSD menu. This means that any software calibra tion
you do will help to achieve a very precise grayscale
ramp for improved display of dark tone details as
well as overall color accuracy.
Custom and Preset Modes
Different kinds of work require different color set-
tings. To ensure you can return to your favorite
settings without having to fiddle with the OSD menu,
this monitor comes with three customizable modes
for assigning values to brightness, contrast, color
temperature, and gamma. In addition, preset Text,
Picture, Movie, and sRGB modes are also included.
Modes switch automatically with the bundled
ScreenManager Pro for LCD software, or manually
with the press of a button.
Brightness and Chroma Uniformity with DUE
Fluctuations in brightness and chroma on different
parts of the screen are characteristic of LCD panels.
Generally, the larger the screen, the more noticeable
these uniformity errors become. EIZO’s Digital Uni-
formity Equalizer (DUE) assists in compensating for
these errors, resulting in a more uniform image.
Three Inputs Including DisplayPort
Connect with up to three PCs via the monitor’s dual
DVI-I inputs which accept digital and anlaog signals,
and the DisplayPort (digital) input terminals.
8-bit v. 10-bit Simultaneous Display
The FlexScan SX
series employs a 12-bit
look-up table with a
color palette of 68 bil-
lion colors from which
the most appropriate
16.7 million (8 bits)
are displayed. It also
uses 16-bit internal
processing for smooth
display of grayscale
tones without band-
ing. What’s more,
using the DisplayPort
input, this moni-
tor displays 10-bit
color* — more than
1 billion colors shown
simultaneously. This is
64 times greater than
the 16.7 million colors
of 8-bit display. The
result is even smoother
color gradations.
*A graphics board and soft-
ware which support 10-bit output are necessary for 10-bit display.
