IMPORTANT INFO
It is highly recommended that you paint or nish pilaster before you install it.
Once installed, you can apply any necessary touch‐up paint or nish. Note: A high quality exterior
grade latex paint is recommended.
‐Place pilaster in room 2 to 3 days prior to installation. This allows the moulding to adjust to the
temperature of the room.
‐Clean installation surface and back of pilaster of all dirt and dust with a clean cloth or sponge. Make
sure that the surface and the back of the moulding are completely dry before attempting installation.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure to use the correct tools recommended.
Wear safety goggles.
Follow xture, power tools, and paint manufacturers’ instructions and users manuals.
Use common sense and follow good construction practices.
1. Measure the distance from the landing floor to the top of the brickmoulding.
2. Cut the pilaster to 3/16” longer than the top of the brickmoulding. Note:
always trim from the bottom of the pilaster
3. Apply construction adhesive around the top and side edges of the Pilasters.
Do not apply adhesive to the bottom edge. The bottom edge should remain
open to allow moisture to seep out.
4. Next, position the Pilasters over moisture resistant house wrap and fasten
with noncorrosive fasteners.
Note: If new constuction, after installation of the pilasters butt and t the manu-
factuers recommended J-Channel to the sides of the moulding.
