SUB 2060 D The finishing touch for sophisticated music lovers
The SUB 2060 D subwoofer combines stylish mirror-finish design and high tech. With its compact dimensions, this brilliant
performer can be easily integrated in any interior
design. With its special ELAC-LLD woofer
technology, the loudspeaker is set apart from the
rest by its extremely precise and distortion-free
bass reproduction both during quieter and louder
musical passages. Thus the listener’s enjoyment of
music is not disturbed by any sound-related cabinet
vibrations. Even when the music lover indulges his
passion to the full with high bass levels, a
champagne glass placed on the subwoofer
remains unmoved.
A new feature: the 3 micro-controllers, which not
only ensure smooth control of the analogue elec-
tronics, but also, for the first time, provide a new
operating concept, including a remote control, a
graphic user-interface with high-resolution display
and 3-key control on the device itself. The advan-
tages of digital technology are seen in the low
standby power consumption of less than 0,5 W.
A special feature is the ESP® electronic stabilisa-
tion programme, which operates in dependence of
frequency and power. Comparable to a car’s
electronic stability program that permanently moni-
tors the vehicle’s drive stability and ensures that it
stays safely on course even in extreme situations,
the ELAC Subwoofer-ESP® performs an analo-
gous role in sound reproduction. In contrast to
“conventional” subwoofers it is practically impossi-
ble to over-modulate active subwoofers with ESP®.
The electronic assistant also ensures that the
drivers does not produce any noise, even under
extreme loads.
Operation/connection options:
Parallel connection options: Three loudspeaker
inputs (e.g. left, right and centre) and simultaneously LFE connection for the surround receiver.
• Continuosly adjustable volume and crossover frequency for a maximum flexibility.
• Phase can be adjusted to compensate phase differences between satellites and subwoofer
• Automatic on/off switch with approx. 15 min switch-off delay
• RCA socket, input for LFE signal (mono)
• High quality gold-plated screw terminals for loudspeaker inputs L / R / C
• A parametric equalizer, whose frequency and attenuation can be adjusted via the graphic user interface
Drivers equipment
• 2 x 180 mm aluminium sandwich woofers in LLD woofer technology.
Two powerful 250 mm AS woofers in push-push / pull-pull configuration – powered by two powerful ICEpower-Class D
power amplifiers with a total peak output of 330 W – provide an enormously expressive, crisp and precise bass sound
with a simultaneously very high performance. The complementary arrangement of the drivers ensures that the me-
chanical impulses that – in a conventional design – are directed to the cabinet, are virtually completely eliminated. Thus
the listener’s enjoyment of music is not disturbed by any sound-based cabinet vibrations. Even at high bass levels, a
champagne glass placed on the subwoofer remains unmoved.
A massive connecting shaft, which firmly attaches the two drivers to each other, further reduces cabinet vibration that would
otherwise have an adverse affect on the sound quality.
