Comment:
If you have obtained a remote control with your subwoofer, you have the option of
calling up two different, pre-settings. These differ in the parameterization of the
EQ1.
The preset “Audio” has been preset so that music is reproduced ‘neutrally’.
Therefore the “EQ 1 Level” is set to “OdB” and hence practically without function.
In contrast, the preset “Video” results in the EQ 1 in frequencies of around 59 Hz
being emphasized. This frequency range is particularly important for reproducing sound effects of films, and by
emphasizing this frequency you can experience your DVDs etc. with an overpowering fundamental, and a thrilling
quality.
The settings of other parameters of the subwoofer you have made remain unchanged, even after the pre-setting
has been switched. However, any settings for the EQ 1 are lost by a preset selection. If you have used the EQ 1 to
suppress other room resonances or to stress a frequency range, we recommend that you note the parameter val-
ues of the EQ 1, so that you can reset them when required.
8 EQ 2 Room resonance filter (only available with the model SUB 2080 D)
In comparison to the EQ 1, the EQ 2 is characterized by the narrow bandwidth of
the filter. Furthermore, this filter allows supports a reduction of a frequency range
by up to -12dB. The EQ 2 is thus highly suitable for specifically suppressing room
resonances and thus avoiding unwanted peaks in the frequency range. We
recommend the same procedure as for EQ 1when searching for possible room
resonances and setting the parameters.
To set the mean frequency of the filter, go to the rotation menu with one of the outer arrow keys to select “EQ 2
Frequency”. By pressing the selector key in the middle, you arrive frequency selection. Now select the required
frequency with one of the outer arrow keys, and return to the rotation menu by pressing the selector key. Your se-
lected frequency will now be shown.
To set the attenuation/amplification of the filter, go to the rotation menu with one of the outer arrow keys to select
“EQ 2 Level”. By pressing the selector key in the middle you arrive at the attenuation selection. Now select the re-
quired attenuation/amplification with one of the outer arrow keys, and return to the rotation menu by pressing the
selector key. Your selected attenuation/ amplification will now be shown.
9 Overview display
The overview display enables you to view all parameters and their present values
without going through the rotation menu.
To go to the overview display, go to the rotation menu with one of the outer arrow keys to the start screen. By
pressing the selector key in the middle, you reach the overview display. Pressing the selector key again returns
you to the start screen in the rotation menu.
