Digital surround systems:
Symmetrical connection (LFE / Mono In (Balanced)) (only possible with SUB 2080 D)
In some surround amplifiers, there is a special output socket („BASS“ / „SUB OUT“ / „LFE“) for connecting active sub-
woofers that is designed as a symmetric XLR output. This is connected with the “LFE / Mono In Balanced” input of the
subwoofer via a mono XLR cable. As the subwoofer exclusively receives bass signals, the crossover frequency of the
“CROSSOVER” parameter on the subwoofer can be set to the maximum value (“Max”).
If your surround amplifier is not equipped with a “SUB OUT” but in the event that the sound production is not satisfac-
tory for the standard connection described here via the bass management of the AV receiver, the “Extended connec-
tion versions” can be selected as an alternative.
