INTRODUCTION 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 General The new DNG DCI INVERTER ducted split unit range comprises the following RC (heat pump) models: • • • • • • DNG 50 DNG 60 DNG 80 DNG 100 DNG 72 DNG 125 Remote control compatibility The DNG unit is compatible with remote controls RC3, RC4, RCW1, RCW2, RC7. Unlike standard units (fix RPM) that are selected according to their nominal capacity to overcome the maximum required load, DC Inverter units can be selected to a smaller nominal capacity range unit.
INTRODUCTION 1.3 Indoor Unit The DNG DCI indoor unit is a low silhouette ducted unit, and can be easily fitted to many types of residential and commercials applications. 1.4 • • • • • • Low silhouette units 300 mm height. • Tubing connections at the back of the unit to allow easy outlet to left or right side of the • • • Built in condensing water over-flow protection. • Field options: (1) External water pump. (2) Airconet connection.
INTRODUCTION 1.7 Outdoor Unit The DNG DCI INV outdoor units can be installed as floor or wall mounted units by using a wall supporting bracket. The metal sheets are protected by anti- corrosion paint work allowing long life resistance. All outdoor units are pre-charged. For further information, please refer to the Product Data Sheet, Chapter 2. It includes: 1.8 • Compressor mounted in a soundproofed compartment : Scroll – for DNG 50, 60, 100, 125. Twin Rotary – for DNG 72, 80.

CONTROL SYSTEM 12 CONTROL SYSTEM 12.1 General Functions and Operating Rules The DCI software is fully parametric. All the model dependent parameters are shown in Blue color and with Italic style [parameter].The parameters values are given in the last section of this control logic chapter of the service manual. The control function is divided between indoor and outdoor unit controllers. Indoor unit is the system ‘Master’, requesting the outdoor unit for cooling/heating capacity supply.
CONTROL SYSTEM 12.1.2 Target Frequency Setting 12.1.2.1 Target Frequency Setting for DCI 50/60 The compressor target frequency is a function of the NLOAD number sent from the indoorcontroller and the outdoor air temperature.
CONTROL SYSTEM OAT ODUCodeH ODUCodeC IDU NLOAD ≤ -5 3 3 Refer to sect.1.12..1 ≥ -5 3.8 3 12.1.3 Frequency Changes Control When the unit is running normally , the compressor frequency change rate is 1 Hz/sec. 12.1.4 12.1.4.1 Compressor Starting Control Compressor starting control for DCI50/60 Frequency Step 3 Step 2 Step 1 1 Minute 1 Minute Time Min 10 Minutes 12.1.4.
CONTROL SYSTEM 12.1.5 Minimum On and Off Time 3 minutes 12.1.6 Indoor Fan Control 8 Indoor fan speeds are determined for each model. 4 speeds for cool/dry/fan modes and 4speeds for heat mode. When user sets the indoor fan speed to a fixed speed (Low/ Medium/ High), unit will operateconstantly at set speed. When Auto Fan is selected, indoor unit controller can operate in all speeds. The actual speed is setaccording to the cool/heat load. 12.1.6.

CONTROL SYSTEM 12.1.8.2 EEV Control for DCI72/80 The target EEV value is the sum of open loop value (OL) and a result of the accumulative correction values (CV).
CONTROL SYSTEM 12.2 Fan Mode In high/ medium/ low indoor fan user setting, unit will operate fan in selected speed. In AutoFan user setting, fan speed will be adjusted automatically according to the differencebetween actual room temperature and user set point temperature. 12.3 Cooling Mode NLOAD is calculated according to the difference between actual room temperature and user setpoint temperature by PI control. In high/ medium/ low indoor fan user setting, unit will operate fan in selected speed.
CONTROL SYSTEM 12.7 Auto Cool/Heat Mode When in auto cool heat mode unit will automatically select between cool and heat mode according to the difference between actual room temperature and user set point temperature (T). Unit will switch from cool to heat when compressor is off for 3 minutes, and .T < -3. Unit will switch from heat to cool when compressor is off for 5 minutes, and .T < -3. 12.
