PI-1
Unpacking the PI-1 Immediately upon receipt of the PI-1, inspect the carton for possible damage during shipment. The carton and packaging have been designed to provide the safest possible protection for transport of your integrated amplifier. Unpack the unit carefully. Save all packaging materials for future shipment. The contents of the carton 1 pcs Electrocompaniet PI-1 1 pcs AC mains cord. 1 pcs inspection card.
How to connect your system See illustration 1. Inputs Single- ended operation: There are two sets of single ended inputs labelled Tuner and HT/TV. All inputs are similar regarding sonic performance. Balanced operation: There are two sets of balanced inputs labelled AUX and CD. The balanced mode can only be used if the signal source has a balanced output. Use an XLR interconnect with GND on pin 1, + on pin 2 and – on pin 3.
How to power up your system You should always power up your system in the following way: Signal sources (CD player, tuner, etc.) first, then the PI-1. When switching off your system First turn of the PI-1, then the signal sources. Error codes If the PI-1 is not working properly, the display will show an error code. These error codes are: Error code ERR SC ERR DC ERR TMP Description Short circuit on the loudspeaker terminals.
Input configurations XLR input: RCA: 1 = ground Circle = ground 2 = positive Centre = positive 3 = negative Technical specifications PI-1 The following technical data were measured on randomized test objects and are typical data. All measurements are made at 120V / 240V // 50Hz / 60Hz Measurements Input impedance 47 kOhm Output impedance 0,04 Ohm Noise floor (0 dB gain) < -100 dB Frequency response 1 – 200 kHz Channel separation > 120 dB THD + N < 0.
Important Notice For optimal sonic performance, the PI-1 should be burned in for a minimum time of 72 hours. If the PI-1 has been switched off, allow two hours of warm-up for optimal sonic performance. Proper ventilation is important. Never cover the ventilation area. A good rule of thumb is to allow at least 3 - 5 cm (1 - 2 inches) of air sidewise, and 5 – 8 cm (2 - 3 inches) above the PI-1.
