Warnings The following warnings are provided in the interests of overall safety. You must read them carefully before installing or using the appliance. Installation • Use only the recommended quantities of fabric softener. An excessive amount could damage the laundry. • All internal packing must be removed before using the appliance. Serious damage may be caused to the machine or adjacent furniture if the protective transit devices are not removed or are not completely removed.
• Keep all detergents in a safe place out of children’s reach. • Children are often not aware of how dangerous electrical appliances can be. When the machine is working, children should be carefully supervised and not be allowed to play with the appliance. • Make sure that children or pets do not climb into the drum. • When the appliance is to be scrapped, cut off the electrical supply cable and destroy the plug with the remaining cable.

Unpacking 7. Pull out the three plastic spacers from the holes into which the bolts were fitted. 8. Plug the open holes with the plugs which you will find at the back of the appliance. All transit bolts and packing must be removed before using the appliance. You are advised to keep all transit devices so that they can be refitted if the machine ever has to be transported again. 1.
Electrical connection The inlet hose must not be lengthened. If it is too short and you do not wish to move the tap, you will have to purchase a new, longer hose specially designed for this type of use. This machine is designed to operate on a 220-230 V, single-phase, 50 Hz supply. Check that your domestic electrical installation can take the maximum load required (2.2 kW), also taking into account any other appliances in use. Water drainage Connect the machine to an earthed socket.
This new machine, which is fitted with the Direct Spray system, patented Electrolux, meets all modern needs for effective treatment of laundry with low water, energy and detergent consumption. Further savings are achieved by washing small loads of laundry, since water and electricity consumption is proportional to the quantity and type of laundry being washed. • The programme selector dial combines the function of programme and temperature selection, making it easier to set the programme.

At the end of the programme the selector dial must be turned to position O. 2 Mains-on light Programme Option buttons This light comes on when the ON/OFF button is pressed, and goes out when it is pressed again. Depending on the programme, different functions can be combined.
For heavy soiled laundry. By selecting this option the spinning phases are suppressed. The washing time is prolonged by approximately 15 minutes for cotton and 10 minutes for synthetics. This function is not available for cotton and linen. This function cannot be selected together with the QUICK WASH option and the Energy saving programme. To be selected for extremely delicate items. 6 Prewash button The machine performs a prewash cycle at 30°C max. The prewash cycle ends with a short spin at 650 r.p.
11 Programme progress display End of programme By selecting the wash programme, the pilot lights corresponding to the various phases making up the programme come on. When the door locked light has gone out, the door can be opened. The light (END) on the programme progress display illuminates. Switch the machine off and remove the laundry. Turn the programme selector dial to O. After the machine has started, only the running phase pilot light stays on.
D = Drain Wool For emptying out the water of the last rinse in programmes with the Anti-crease option. Turn first the programme selector dial to O, then select programme “D” and depress the START/PAUSE button. Washing programme for machine washable wool as well as for hand washable woollens and delicate fabrics with the “hand washing” care symbol. F = Spin A = Soak Separate spin at the maximum speed for hand washed garments.
Laundry weights Washing hints The following weights are indicative: bathrobe Sorting the laundry Follow the wash code symbols on each garment label and the manufacturer’s washing instructions. Sort the laundry as follows: whites, coloureds, synthetics, delicates, woollens. Temperatures 95° 60° for normally soiled white cottons and linen (e.g. tea cloths, towels, tablecloths, sheets...) for normally soiled, colour fast garments (e.g. shirts, night dresses, pyjamas....
The type and quantity of detergent will depend on the type of fabric, load size, degree of soiling and hardness of the water used. Tar stains: first treat with stain remover, methylated spirits or benzine, then rub with detergent paste. (*) do not use acetone on artificial silk. Water hardness is classified in so-called “degrees” of hardness. Information on hardness of the water in your area can be obtained from the relevant water supply company, or from your local authority.
4. Switch the machine on Operating sequence To switch the machine on, press the ON/OFF button : the mains-on light comes on. Washing only Before washing your first load of laundry, we recommend that you run a cotton cycle at 60°C, with the machine empty, in order to remove any manufacturing residue from the drum and tub. Pour half a measure of detergent into the main wash compartment and start up the machine. 1. Place the laundry in the drum Open the door.
9. At the end of the programme The light corresponding to the depressed button illuminates. The machine stops automatically. If the anti-crease option has been selected, the light of the START/PAUSE button flashes to indicate that the water must be emptied out before opening the door. The door can only be opened after the door locked light has gone out. Release of the lock is also indicated by the coming on of the light . Turn the programme selector dial to Reset O.

1. Bodywork 3. Drain filter Clean the outside of the machine with warm water and a detergent used to handwash dishes. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth. The drain filter collects threads and small objects inadvertently left in the laundry. Check regularly that the filter is clean. Important: do not use methylated spirits, solvents or similar products to clean the bodywork. Open the filter door. Place a container under the filter and unscrew it. 2.
5. Emergency emptying out If the water is not discharged (outlet pump is blocked, filter or drain hose are clogged), proceed as follows to empty out the machine: • pull out the plug from the power socket; • close the water tap; • if necessary, wait until the water has cooled down; • place a bowl on the floor under the filter; • slightly loosen the filter to let the water come out slowly; • at the end screw the filter again. 6.
Problems which you can resolve yourself. During machine operation it is possible that END light and one of the following lights start to flash: : problem with the water supply : problem with water draining : door open Once the problem has been eliminated, press the START/PAUSE button to restart the programme. If after all checks, the problem persists, contact your local Service Centre. Problem Possible cause • The machine does not start up: • The door is not firmly closed.
Problem Possible cause • The door will not open: • The water level is above the bottom edge of the door. • The machine is heating the water. • The drum is turning. The door can only be opened when the relevant light has gone out. • Spinning starts late or the laundry is not spun enough: • The electronic unbalance detection device has cut in because the laundry is not evenly distributed in the drum. The laundry is redistributed by reverse rotation of the drum.
