If the washing result is not satisfactory
If the washing is grey and limescale
forms in the drum
Not enough washing detergent added.
The right washing detergent was not used.
Special types of stain were not pretreated.
Program or temperature incorrectly set.
If binary wahing detergents were used, the indi-
vidual components were not added in the correct
ratio.
If there are still grey stains on the wash-
ing
Washing contaminated with creams, grease or
oils was washing with too little detergent.
Washing at too low temperature.
A frequent cause is that conditioner – particularly
concentrated form, ended up on the washing.
Wash out such stains as quickly as possible and
carefully use the right conditioner.
If foam is still visible after the final rinse
Modern washing detergents can still produce
foam, even in the final rinse. The washing is still
sufficiently rinsed.
If there are white residues on the wash-
ing
These are the insoluble components of modern
detergents. They are not the result of an insuffi-
cient rinsing effect.
Shake or brush off the washing. Perhaps in future
you should turn the washing before washing it.
Check the choice of detergent and use a liquid
detergent if necessary.
Power failure during a wash
programme (all lights have
gone out).
Possibly interruption of power by the
power supplier.
(Door remains locked for approx. 2
minutes for safety reasons.)
Programme continues, when the
power failure is over.
If the washing is to be removed during
the power failure:
Turn the programme knob to OFF
(Aus, Arrêt).
Carry out emergency drain procedure
(see section "Emergency Drain Proce-
dure").
After approx. 2 minutes, the door can
be opened by pulling on the door
handle.
Detergent residues are accu-
mulating in the detergent
drawer.
The stopcock is not turned on fully. Turn the stopcock on fully.
The filter in the threaded inlet hose fit-
ting is blocked at the stopcock or at
the washing machine.
Close the stopcock. Unscrew the inlet
hose from the stopcock and from the
machine. Clean the filters.
The rinse water is cloudy.
The probable cause is a detergent
high in silicate content.
This has no adverse effects on rinse
results; if possible, use liquid deter-
gent.
When pressing an additional
programme function button,
the corresponding light does
not come on.
The selected additional programme
function cannot be combined with the
programme set.
