If you need to place the sysex data at a certain location in the Machinedrum, you still need
to enter the SYSEX REC menu as described in the section “SPECIFIC PLACE SYSEX
RECEIVE” on page 64.
ORIGINAL PLACE SYSEX RECEIVE
You don’t have to enter this menu for receiving sysex data. Just send the data to the
Machinedrum at any time and it will store it where it was originally saved. If you still want to
use this menu, follow the instructions below.
To load sysex data into the same place as it was originally saved, follow the steps below:
1. Make sure you have connected the Machinedrum MIDI IN port to the MIDI OUT port of
t
he device that is sending the sysex data.
2. Select the MIDI row in the GLOBAL EDIT menu. Then select SYSEX REC and press
[ENTER/YES].
3. Select the ORIG receive method using the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow keys.
4. Press [ENTER/YES] to start receiving data. A message displaying “WAITING...” shows
up in the menu.
5. Now initiate the data send from the sending device.
6. A counter will display how many messages have been received, and, if you have a bad
c
onnection, how many erroneous messages have been received and ignored.
• Received data will overwrite any previous data in the memory in the positions
where it is placed. Make sure you have backed up any important data using sysex
send.
• Receiving sysex data may take a while, depending on the size of the transmitted
