HorizonFrequenciesofOperation
Inawireless Ethernetnetwork allof theESTeem Horizonmustbesettothesameradio
frequency of operation (channel) and bandwidth.The following table shows the
channelsandcorrespondingfrequenciesofoperationforeachmodelofESTeem.The
frequency of operation is selectable when configuring the mode of operation of the
Horizon(ref
erenceChapter3).

RFDataRateConfiguration
TheRFdatarateoftheHorizoncanbeprogrammedfor operationatmultipledatarates.TheRFdataratecanbesetforafixed
rateoraspecificrangethatisdynamicallyscaledbytheHorizonfrommonitoringthereceivedsignalquality.Dynamicscaling
meansthattheHorizonwillope
rateatthehighestRFdataratethatisprogrammedintounit.Ifthereceiv ed dataqualitydrops
belowtherequiredminimumsforreliablecommunications,theHorizonwill reducethedataratetothenextloweststepto
increasesignalquality.ConverselyifthesignalqualityincreasesabovetheminimumstheHorizonwi
llincreasetheRFdatarate
thenexthighestlevel.
TheESTeem Horizonissetatthefactorytooperateatmaximizedscalingspeeddataratesandshouldnotneedadjustment.The
RFDataRateisprogrammedintheHorizonthroughtheAdvancedMenu>WirelessLANSettings>wlan0deviceandthe valuefor
Communicatio
nRatesand802.11nCommunicationRate Index:.Intheex a mpleshowninFigure2theRFDateRateis
programmedtodynamicscalealldatarates(recommendfactorydefaultsetting).Tosetthevaluesforthedatarate,checkthe
boxnexttothelisteddataratetoenablethisratefo
roperation.
Technical Tip:The shaded
frequency channels are available
for 802.11 (Wi‐Fi) client use.All
other non‐shaded channels are
proprietary.
