Solar Powered LED SMART Billboard/Wall Wash Light
Initial activation (Fig. 1):
• It’s highly recommended to charge the light under direct sunlight for 1-2 days prior to installation. The battery charges even
when the light is off.
• One-Step Power ON: Press the ON/OFF button( )on side of the fixture for 1-2 seconds (momentary) to activate the light. If
your testing is launched during the day, make sure the solar panel is fully covered by a piece of cardboard/package box to
simulate the darkness condition. Remove the cover will make it turn off during the daylight condition.
Light Fixture and AUX Solar Panel Installation:
• Choose a flat and stable mounting surface with maximum exposure to direct sunlight. It is essential that the solar panel receives
at least 4 hours of direct sunlight every day on average in order to ensure dusk to dawn illuminating performance.
• For Northern hemisphere installations the light should be mounted with a southerly exposure and visa-versa for Southern
hemisphere installation. East and West mounting locations with good sun exposure can also be good.
• For wall-mounted, drill holes on desired locations, secure the light body with provided or by specified screws (Fig. 2) for wood
surfaces or surfaces of concrete, and consultation from local contractor or experience technician/person is suggested for DIY
projects.
• The light will automatically turn off when it detects low battery. This might happen after 3-4 cloudy days, but it will restore by
self once sunny weather gets back, to improve this matter that add an addition same wattage solar panel.
• Add an auxiliary solar panel (Fig. 4 & Fig. 6) via built in DC AUX input is the method for charging enhancement to ensure all night
long illuminating performance even during the critical weather condition or at location with charging limitation (Built-in solar
panel facing to North; poor sunlight coverage mounting location e.g.). 8-15W/17Vmpp solar panel will work for EE810W2F and
15-30W/17Vmpp solar panel will work for EE820W4F (Get solar panel via eLEDing.com site https://eleding.com/ee-sop.html)
Dusk to Dawn Function (Fig. 3):
During daylight hours, the direct sunlight will charge the battery through solar panel. Features with IPM, when the built-in
photocell senses the ambient light level is lower than 10 LUX (darkness environment), the light will automatically turn on with
fixed maximum brightness for the first 5 hours. After 5 hours, the light will switch to energy-saving mode by dimming down to
fixed 25% of maximum brightness for the rest of the night. When dawn comes, the light extinguishes when ambient light level
starts to increase.
Note:
• Never have shadows or anything covers the solar panel during the day (Refer Fig 5).
• Avoid placing objects in front of the motion detector that may affect detecting performance.
• Avoid installing the unit near air conditioners, central heaters, or high voltage systems.
• Avoid placing the motion detector head towards high movement areas
• Clean the solar panel with a moist soft cloth at least once a year.
• Clean accumulated snow as soon as possible during the snowing season.
• Do not expose the light to fire/intense heat or immerse in water.
• Never look directly into the light or shine it into another person’s eyes.
• If the light doesn’t activate when it is first turned on, then allow 1-2 days for the panel to
re-charge the battery.
