5.4 Tab “Device”
This tab is actually not required for the simulaon and its setup, but can become important in case the set values of current and
power are not set up correctly and could interfere with the simulaon at some point. However, outside of a simulaon the power
supply could be controlled from here for other purposes.
Furthermore, the tab shows addional status and allows for manual control of the device in terms of switching the DC output on or
o, acvang or deacvang remote control or adjusng device related sengs. Manual control also oers the opon to acknowl-
edge, i. e. clear a device alarm (OVP, OCP etc.). Overview:
Figure 5 - Manual device control in tab “Device”
Nr Parameter / Buon Descripon
1 Preset Voltage Global voltage seng. Will be overwrien during the simulaon.
2 Preset Current
Global current seng, set to maximum by default. PSB series devices show two separate values here for
sink and source mode. The global limit denes at which current level the simulaon current is clipped.
It only limits the current, contrary to the seng “Current cuto limit (fuse)”, which will stop simulaon
when reached. This requires to set the cuto limit lower than the global current limit.
3 Preset Power
Global power seng, set to maximum by default. PSB series devices show two separate values here for
sink and source mode. The global limit denes at which power level the simulaon current and voltage
are clipped.

Addional status from the power supply (also refer to the user manual of the device for details):
Mode: regulaon mode (CP, CV, CC)
OP Mode: always UIP (resistance mode = o), because the simulaon forces UIP mode
MS Mode: shows if the device you run the simulaon with is a part of a master-slave system
Access: name of the interface currently being used for remote control
Alarm: shows the latest alarm, if any, unl cleared or “None”

Remote on
Remote o
Used to switch manually between remote control on or o. Remote control is automacally acvated
upon start of the soware.
6 On/O
Used to switch the DC output manually on or o, also to clear/acknowledge alarms. Condion “on” is
indicated by the green LED, o by the red one.
The DC output is automacally switched on or o with start and stop of the simulaon.
7 Sengs Opens the Sengs app. It allows to adjust some device related parameters like on the HMI.
