5.4 Tab “Device”
This tab is actually not required for the simulaon and its setup, but can become important in case the set values of current and
power are not set up correctly and could interfere with the simulaon at some point. However, outside of a simulaon the power
supply could be controlled from here for other purposes.
Furthermore, the tab shows addional status and allows for manual control of the device in terms of switching the DC output on or
o, acvang or deacvang remote control or adjusng device related sengs. Manual control also oers the opon to acknowl-
edge, i. e. clear a device alarm (OVP, OCP etc.). Overview:
Figure 5 - Manual device control in tab “Device”
Nr Parameter / Buon Descripon
1 Preset Voltage Global voltage seng. Will be overwrien during the simulaon.
2 Preset Current
Global current seng, set to maximum by default. PSB series devices show two separate values here for
sink and source mode. The global limit denes at which current level the simulaon current is clipped.
It only limits the current, contrary to the seng “Current cuto limit (fuse)”, which will stop simulaon
when reached. This requires to set the cuto limit lower than the global current limit.
3 Preset Power
Global power seng, set to maximum by default. PSB series devices show two separate values here for
sink and source mode. The global limit denes at which power level the simulaon current and voltage
are clipped.

Addional status from the power supply (also refer to the user manual of the device for details):
Mode: regulaon mode (CP, CV, CC)
OP Mode: always UIP (resistance mode = o), because the simulaon forces UIP mode
MS Mode: shows if the device you run the simulaon with is a part of a master-slave system
Access: name of the interface currently being used for remote control
Alarm: shows the latest alarm, if any, unl cleared or “None”

Remote on
Remote o
Used to switch manually between remote control on or o. Remote control is automacally acvated
upon start of the soware.
6 On/O
Used to switch the DC output manually on or o, also to clear/acknowledge alarms. Condion on” is
indicated by the green LED, o by the red one.
The DC output is automacally switched on or o with start and stop of the simulaon.
7 Sengs Opens the Sengs app. It allows to adjust some device related parameters like on the HMI.
