Browse through the MACHINE list using the [ARROW] keys [UP] and [DOWN]. Sample the MACHINE cur-
rently outlined by tapping the pad of the active track. Select the outlined MACHINE by pressing [YES]. Exit
without switching MACHINE by pressing [NO].
Edit a track Sound by adjusting the parameters found on the PARAMETER pages. Access these pages by
pressing one of the five [PARAMETER] page keys. Use the DATA ENTRY knobs A-H to change the pa-
rameters. For a complete description of the functions of the parameters, please see “APPENDIX A: DRUM
TRACK PARAMETERS” on page 71.
SRC controls the analog drum synthesis parameters of the MACHINE selected.
SMPL controls the sample selection and settings.
FLTR controls the filter mode, cuto frequency, and envelope.
AMP controls the amplitude parameters, eect sends, and levels.
LFO controls parameters for the LFO of the active track.
When you want to save a particular Sound with all its current parameter settings, use the quick command
[YES] + [MUTE]. Toggle destination, Sound Pool or +Drive, by accessing the left-hand menu, [ARROW] key
[LEFT], then press [YES]. Select which slot to save to using the [ARROW] keys [UP] and [DOWN], or the
TRACK LEVEL knob, and press [YES]. If you select a non-empty slot, the current Sound will overwrite the
Sound previously saved to the slot. Name the Sound (see “THE NAMING SCREEN” on page 10) and select
a suitable tag, or several tags (KICK, SNARE, RIMSHOT et cetera), using the [ARROW] keys + [YES].
The complete Sound, comprised of all its parameter settings, may be copied to another track by first press-
ing [TRK] + [RECORD], then selecting the track you want to copy the Sound to using [TRK] + one of the
[PADS], and finally pasting by pressing [TRK] + [STOP]. Note that the Sound can only be pasted to a track
that is compatible with the Sound.
10.8 SELECTING A SAMPLE
Any of the 127 user samples in the (RAM) memory may be assigned to a Sound on any of the drum tracks.
The user samples can be replaced, relocated and otherwise managed in the SAMPLES manager found in
the GLOBAL MENU. See section “14.2 SAMPLES” on page 54. Select the active drum track by pressing
[TRK] + one of the [PADS]. Open the SAMPLE parameter page by pressing the [SMPL] key.
Press DATA ENTRY knob D to bring up a list of samples.
