13. SAMPLING
Analog Rytm MKII is also a competent and accessible sampler. It can sample audio from external sources
via the AUDIO IN inputs, and it can also sample audio internally from the Analog Rytm MKII itself. The max-
imum sampling time is 33 seconds.
13.1 SAMPLING MENU
The SAMPLING menu oers settings that control the dierent aspects of sampling.
Press [SAMPLING] to access this menu. Use the DATA ENTRY knobs to change the parameters.
13.1.1 REC
Press [FUNC] + [YES] to start sampling. Press [YES] to stop sampling.
13.1.2 ARM
Press [YES] to arm the sampler. The sampler is now in arm mode and it will start sampling when the
incoming audio exceeds the threshold level. See below. (Press [SAMPLING] + [NO] to cancel.)
13.1.3 THR
If you have selected to arm the sampler, the sampling begins when the incoming audio signal exceeds
the threshold setting. Set the threshold high enough so that it is not triggered by background noise, but
low enough that you capture all of the signal.
13.1.4 SRC
Source selects between dierent audio sources to sample from.
• AUD L+R sets the input source to sample external audio through the AUDIO IN L+R inputs. The
audio is summed together to mono.
• AUD L sets the input source to AUDIO IN L.
• AUD R sets the input source to AUDIO IN R.
• BD, SD, RS/CP, BT, LT, MT/HT, CH/OH, CY/CB sets the input source to the internal audio from the
separate drum tracks.
• MAIN sets the input source to the internal MAIN L+R channels. The audio is summed together to
mono.
13.1.5 MON
Selects the option to monitor the incoming audio through the Analog Rytm MKII or not.
Please note that in most cases you always monitor the internal audio and this parameter is
then not available when you chose the separate drum tracks or MAIN as input sources. How-
ever, if your sample source is an individual track that you have routed not to send audio to
the MAIN OUT, then the MON parameter is available. For more information, please see “14.6
TRACK ROUTING GLOBAL” on page 59.
13.2 SAMPLING WITH THE ANALOG RYTM MKII
1. If you use an external audio source, connect it to the Analog Rytm MKII.
2. Press [SAMPLING] to access the SAMPLING menu and then use DATA ENTRY knob G to set
SOURCE to your preferred audio input source.
3. Keep an eye on the audio input meter and play the audio source and make sure that the volume of the
audio source is as strong as possible, but without clipping or distorting. If needed, set MON to YES to
monitor the incoming audio through the Analog Rytm MKII.
