16. SETUP EXAMPLES
The Analog Rytm MKII likes to play with other machines. Whether it uses its ability to sync and play with
legacy machines, plays its part among other Elektron machines or plays with incoming audio: Analog Rytm
MKII gets along with other gear. Three examples are shown here.
16.1 ANALOG RYTM MKII WITH A MONOPHONIC BASS MACHINE

The DIN sync capabilities of the Analog Rytm MKII allows you to use gear from times gone by.
In this example, a legacy monophonic bass machine is used alongside the Analog Rytm MKII. The bass
machine bassline is started, stopped and tempo controlled with the Analog Rytm MKII.
1. Prepare a bassline pattern on the bass machine.
2. Connect the output of the bass machine to the mixer using a standard phone cable.
3. Connect the Analog Rytm MKII outputs to the mixer using standard phone cables.
4. Connect the MIDI Out of the Analog Rytm MKII to the SYNC IN of the bass machine.
5. In the GLOBAL SETTINGS > MIDI PORT CONFIGURATION menu of the Analog Rytm MKII, set OUT
PORT FUNC to DIN24
6. Prepare a rhythm on the Analog Rytm MKII.
