tracks to play dierent Sounds. The Digitone Keys also uses the AUTO channel to record to the MIDI
tracks from external MIDI controllers. The default AUTO channel is 10.
PROG CHG IN CH selects the MIDI channel that listens for incoming program change messages. An
AUTO setting uses the AUTO channel. Enable Digitone Keys to respond to program change messages
in the MIDI SYNC menu. For more information, please see “14.3.1 SYNC” on page 66.
PROG CHG OUT CH selects the MIDI channel that sends program change messages when changing
patterns. The AUTO setting uses the AUTO channel. Enable Digitone Keys to send program change
messages in the SYNC menu. For more information, please see “14.3.1 SYNC” on page 66.
MULTI MAP CH selects the MIDI channel that receives MIDI messages from external MIDI keyboard/
controllers, to access the MULTI MAP mode. If you use an external keyboard or controller you can
always access the MULTI MAP mode whether you toggle the MULTI MAP mode on or not. For more
information, please see “14.9 MULTI MAP EDIT” on page 74.
14.3.4 MIDI EXT MENU
The Digitone Keys has a very flexible MIDI CONTROLLER mode that lets you use the Digitone Keys’s
[KEYBOARD] and other controllers to control external devices via MIDI. Press [MIDI EXT] to toggle
the MIDI CONTROLLER mode on/o.
In the MIDI EXT menu, you find all the settings that relate to the MIDI Controller functionality. The set-
tings here overrides the settings in the PORT CONFIG menu when the MIDI mode is on. The MIDI EXT
settings are stored together with the project. Press [FUNC] + [MIDI EXT]
to access the MIDI EXT menu.
SLOT lets you select eight dierent slots where you can store a separate set of MIDI EXT settings.
MIDI CH selects the MIDI channel that is used to send the MIDI Controller data.
CTRL KNOBS CC sets the specific MIDI CC value sent by each of the CONTROL knobs.
DATA KNOBS CC sets the specific MIDI CC value sent by each of the DATA ENTRY knobs.
KEYBOARD controls whether the [KEYBOARD] sends MIDI data or not. When set to INT, the [KEY-
BOARD] only aect the Digitone Keys and sends no MIDI data. When set to INT + EXT, the [KEY-
BOARD] aect the Digitone Keys, and also send MIDI data to external devices. When set to EXT, the
[KEYBOARD] send MIDI data to external devices but do not aect the Digitone Keys. The [OCT/+]
keys are lit purple when the KEYBOARD is set to INT + EXT or EXT.
CTRL KNOBS controls whether the CONTROL knobs send MIDI data or not. When set to INT, the
knobs only aect the Digitone Keys and send no MIDI data. When set to INT + EXT, the knobs aect
the Digitone Keys and also sends MIDI data to external devices. When set to EXT, the knobs send
MIDI data externally but do not aect the Digitone Keys.
DATA KNOBS controls whether the DATA ENTRY knobs send MIDI data or not. When set to INT, the
knobs only aect the Digitone Keys, and send no MIDI data. When set to INT + EXT, the knobs aect
the Digitone Keys and also sends MIDI data to external devices. When set to EXT, the knobs send
MIDI data externally but do not aect the Digitone Keys.
MW/PW controls whether the MOD WHEEL and PITCH BEND send MIDI data or not. When set to INT,
these controls only aect the Digitone Keys and no MIDI data is sent. When set to INT + EXT, these
controls aect the Digitone Keys and also send MIDI data to external devices. When set to EXT, these
controls send MIDI data externally but do not aect the Digitone Keys. The [PTCH] and [MOD] keys
are lit purple when MW/PB is set to INT + EXT or EXT.
TRANSPORT controls whether PLAY, STOP and PAUSE data from the [PLAY] and [STOP] keys is
sent over MIDI or not. When set to INT, these controls only aect the Digitone Keys, and no MIDI data
is sent. When set to INT + EXT, these controls aect the Digitone Keys and also send MIDI data to
external devices. When set to EXT, these controls send MIDI data externally but do not aect the
Digitone Keys.
