16. SETUP EXAMPLES

Digitone Keys works very well together with the Digitakt, and you can, for example, route the audio from the 
Digitakt through the Digitone Keys and sync the tempo of the sequencers.
1.  Use a standard MIDI cable to connect the Digitakt MIDI OUT jack with the Digitone Keys’s MIDI IN 
jack.
2.  Use two TR or TRS cables to connect the OUTPUT L/R from the Digitakt to the INPUT L/R on the 
Digitone Keys.
3.  On the Digitakt, press [GLOBAL SETTINGS], and then navigate to MIDI CONFIG > PORT CONFIG 
and set OUT PORT FUNC to MIDI.
4.  In the same menu set OUTPUT to MIDI. 
5.  Press [GLOBAL SETTINGS], and then navigate to MIDI CONFIG > SYNC and set CLOCK SEND to 
ON. 
6.  On the Digitone Keys, press [GLOBAL SETTINGS], and then navigate to MIDI CONFIG > PORT CON-
FIG and set INPUT FROM to MIDI.
7.  Press [GLOBAL SETTINGS], and then navigate to MIDI CONFIG > SYNC and set CLOCK RECEIVE 
to ON.
8.  Press [PLAY] on the Digitakt
9.  On the Digitone Keys, press [FUNC] + [LFO] to open the MASTER page.
10. Adjust the IN L/R to set the level of the incoming audio from the Digitakt.
11. Set LPAN to L64 and RPAN to R63.
12. Adjust the CHR, DEL and REV parameters to add the Digitone Keys’s send eects to the Digitakt’s 
audio. 
16.3 CONTROLLING A SYNTHESIZER USING THE MIDI TRACKS

Digitone Keys has extensive MIDI sequencing capabilities and can use its MIDI tracks to control other MIDI- 
equipped synthesizers.
1.  Use a standard MIDI cable to connect the Digitone Keys MIDI OUT jack with the synthesizer’s MIDI IN 
jack.
2.  On the Digitone Keys, press [GLOBAL SETTINGS], and then navigate to MIDI CONFIG > PORT CON-
FIG and set OUT PORT FUNC to MIDI.
3.  In the same menu set OUTPUT TO to MIDI.
