The sample slot list of the machine assigned to the track will appear. The sample already assigned to the
machine is called TRK DEFAULT. While holding the [TRIG] key of the sample trig pressed, use the [UP]/
[DOWN] arrow keys or the LEVEL knob to navigate in the list. Select the sample that should be locked to
the sample trig and press [YES] to lock it. Sample locks are indicated by a rapidly flashing red [TRIG] key.
12.7 TRIG MODES
The various TRIG modes aect how the 16 [TRIG] keys are used when no RECORDING mode is active.
Select which TRIG mode that should be active for all the tracks by pressing [FUNC] + [UP] or [DOWN].
The currently active TRIG mode is indicated in the lower right part of the screen, to the left of the scene
assignment graphics.
Incoming MIDI note data are mapped to the audio tracks in dierent ways depending on the
chosen TRIG mode and the AUDIO NOTE in parameter setting. For more information, please
see “APPENDIX C: MIDI CONTROL REFERENCE” on page 137. “8.7.1 CONTROL” on page
39.
12.7.1 TRACKS
This is the default TRIG mode. When not in any RECORDING mode, [TRIG 1–8] keys trig any discon-
nected audio tracks and [TRIG 9–16] trig the machines of the eight tracks. Machines can also be trigged
by pressing [TRACK] + [PLAY]. Stop playback of the machines by pressing [TRACK] + [STOP]. When
in MIDI mode the last eight [TRIG] keys are instead used to trig disconnected MIDI tracks. Read more
about how to disconnect tracks in section “12.11 PATTERN SETTINGS MENU” on page 75. Trigless
trigs can also be trigged manually by pressing [FUNC] + [TRIG 9–16] when not in any RECORDING
mode. The track corresponding to the [TRIG] key pressed will be aected. This is good when wanting to
for example trig the filter or the LFO but not the sample.
While in LIVE RECORDING mode it is possible to real-time record [TRIG] key presses to place sample
trigs on the sequencer. Trigless trigs, instead of sample trigs, can be recorded if [FUNC] is held while
pressing the [TRIG] keys.
In this mode [TRIG] keys 1–8 send note C1–G1 and [TRIG] keys 9–16 send MIDI note C2–G2 (if config-
ured to send MIDI out).
12.7.2 CHROMATIC
This mode enables chromatic playback of samples. When not in any RECORDING mode the [TRIG] keys,
plus the [PAGE] key function as a little mini-keyboard. [FUNC] + [TRIG] will manually trig trigless trigs
instead of sample trigs. While in LIVE RECORDING mode it is possible to real-time record [TRIG] key
