Shut down the VNX in an emergency
This section explains how to shut down the VNX in case of an emergency. "Power
down the VNX" on page 26 provides more specifics on normal (planned)
powerdown procedures.
Perform the following tasks to shut down the VNX in an emergency:

These procedures can cause data loss or disrupt service to other clients. Use these
procedures only when faced with personal hazard or possible property damage.
VNX series emergency shutdown
To shut down VNX Unified, Integrated, and Gateway servers in an emergency, turn
off the two cabinet circuit-breaker switches.
Note: Turning off the cabinet circuit-breakers immediately removes power from Data
Movers, Control Station, storage array system, standby power supplies (SPSs), and any
other equipment connected to the cabinet’s PDU. No other action is required.
