Pre-installation information RETAIN THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. MEASURE THE ENTRYWAY Measure the height and width of the door even with the brickmold as shown in the illustration. Use the smallest width measurement to determine the opening width. Compare your door opening height and width with the size chart to choose the appropriate size of your new storm door. If the opening does not fall within any of these limits, it will be necessary to rework the door jamb.

1. DETERMINE HINGE SIDE: A. The storm door has been designed for either left or right hinged installation. Position the door frame in the door opening with the top of the door at the top of the entry. The top of the door is where the screen pull and screen cover plate are located. The hinge side will be the side that is the door pivot point. Be sure that the window latches are to the inside of the door.

3. ATTACH HINGE Z-BAR ASSEMBLY TO DOOR: A. To determine which end of Z-bar is top, hold Z-bar up to door opening to side you desire to be hinged. The screw track will be on left side for left hinge installation and to right for right hinge installation. MARK TOP OF Z-BAR WITH TAPE. B. Set door on edge with hinge edge facing up. Locate the second and third edge cover screw (counting down from top of door). Remove both screws. C.

4. CUT HINGE SIDE Z-BAR TO LENGTH: To fit the hinge side Z-bar into the opening, you will need to cut the hinge side Z-bar to same length as the opening height of your door. STEP 4A RAIN CAP A. Measure the door opening height on hinge side from the underside of the rain cap to the top of the door sill. This is the measurement that you will use to cut hinge side Z-bar to length. 6. SECURE RAIN CAP: ! CAUTION WARNING Steel will corrode when used with ACQ Pressure Treated Lumber. Obtain and use the appropriate size stainless steel fastener as called out in the installation guide to fasten unit to any rough opening made from ACQ Pressure Treated Lumber. Failure to use stainless steel fasteners may result in injury, property, or product damage. STEP 6A/B A. Adjust the rain cap so there is an equal space between the rain cap and along the top edge of the door. B.

. INSTALL HANDLE SET: A. Follow the instructions included in the hardware kit box packed with your door. IMPORTANT Duplicate keys can be made by your nearest home improvement store or locksmith. 9. INSTALL CLOSER: A. Follow the instructions included in the hardware kit box packed with your door. 10. INSTALL SWEEP: A. Slide sweep over base of door with mounting slots on inside of door. Center sweep along the bottom of the door frame. Position sweep so both ends of sweep fin touch door sill completely.

11. ADJUSTING THE CLOSER: A. Locate adjustment screw on the end of closer that attaches to the door frame. B. Open door, then let it close to note current closing speed. C. Use Phillips-head screwdriver to adjust closer to desired speed. 1. For faster closing speed, turn adjustment screw to the left (counterclockwise). 2. REGULAR MAINTENANCE WINDOW GLASS – The glass may be cleaned with any household glass cleaner. Keep glass cleaners away from painted parts and brass/nickel components. PLASTIC PARTS – Plastic door components may be cleaned using a mild soap and water mixture and by gently rubbing the affected area. Do not use harsh abrasives or any product that contains chlorine. METAL PARTS – Metal parts on the door may be cleaned using a mild soap and water mixture and by gently rubbing the affected area.

4. CORTAR EL PERFIL EN Z DEL LADO DE LA BISAGRA A LA LONGITUD ADECUADA: Para calzar el perfil en Z del lado de la bisagra en la abertura, deberá cortarlo del mismo largo que la altura de la abertura de su puerta. PASO 4A TAPA PARA LLUVIA A. Mida la altura de la abertura de la puerta del lado de la bisagra, desde abajo de la tapa para lluvia hasta la parte superior del umbral de la puerta. Esta es la medida que usará para cortar el perfil en Z del lado de la bisagra a la longitud adecuada.

6. ASEGURAR LA TAPA PARA LLUVIA: CAUTION ADVERTENCIA ! El acero se corroerá cuando se los usa con madera tratada a presión ACQ. Obtenga y use el sujetador de acero inoxidable del tamaño adecuado como se indica en la guía de instalación para sujetar la unidad a cualquier abertura rugosa realizada en madera tratada a presión ACQ. 11. AJUSTAR EL CERRADOR: A. Ubique el tornillo de ajuste en el extremo del cerrador que se conecta al marco de la puerta. B. Abra la puerta, luego ciérrela para ver la velocidad de cierre actual. C. Use un destornillador Phillips para ajustar el cerrador a la velocidad deseada. 1. Para una velocidad de cierre más rápida, gire el tornillo de ajuste hacia la izquierda (en sentido anti-horario). MESURE DE L’ENTRÉE Mesurez la hauteur et la largeur de la porte jusqu’à la moulure de façade de la façon illustrée. Servez-vous de la plus petite mesure de largeur pour calculer la largeur de l’ouverture. Comparez la largeur et la hauteur de la porte au tableau des dimensions et choisissez votre nouvelle contreporte en fonction des dimensions.

1. DÉTERMINATION DU CÔTÉ OÙ SERONT LES CHARNIÈRES : A. La contre-porte a été conçue pour s'ouvrir du côté gauche comme du côté droit. Posez le cadre de porte dans l’ouverture de porte en plaçant le haut de la porte en haut de l’ouverture. Le haut de la porte est l’endroit où se trouvent la languette de traction et le recouvrement de la moustiquaire. Le côté des charnières est celui qui permettra à la porte de pivoter. Assurez-vous que les verrous de fenêtre se trouvent du côté intérieur de la porte.

3. FIXATION DU MONTANT EN Z CÔTÉ CHARNIÈRES SUR LA PORTE: A. Pour trouver l'extrémité supérieure du montant en Z, tenez le montant le long de l’ouverture de porte où se trouveront les charnières. Les trous des vis se trouveront sur le côté gauche si vous posez les charnières à gauche et sur le côté droit si vous posez les charnières à droite. MARQUEZ LE HAUT DU MONTANT EN Z À L'AIDE DE RUBAN ADHÉSIF. ÉTAPE 3B TROISIÈME VIS DU CÔTÉ B. Couchez la porte sur le côté pour avoir le côté charnière vers le haut.

4. COUPE DU MONTANT EN Z CÔTÉ CHARNIÈRES À LA BONNE LONGUEUR: Pour que le montant en Z côté charnières corresponde à l’ouverture, il faut le couper à la même longueur que la hauteur de l’ouverture de la porte. ÉTAPE 4A REJÉTEAU A. Mesurez la hauteur d’ouverture de la porte côté charnières depuis le bas du rejéteau jusqu’en haut du seuil de la porte. C’est la longueur à laquelle il faut couper le montant en Z côté charnières. Hauteur de l’ouverture de la porte côté charnières B.

6. FIXATION DU REJÉTEAU : CAUTION AVERTISSEMENT ! L'acier se corrode quand on l'utilise avec du bois traité sous pression ACQ. Il faut se procurer et utiliser des fixations en acier inoxydable de taille appropriée, en suivant les indications de ce guide, pour fixer la porte dans un cadre de porte en bois traité sous pression ACQ. À défaut d’être en acier inoxydable, les fixations risquent d’endommager la propriété ou le produit. ÉTAPE 6A/B A.

8. INSTALLATION DE LA TROUSSE DE POIGNÉE: A. Suivez les consignes comprises dans la trousse de poignée accompagnant votre porte. 11. RÉGLAGE DU FERME-PORTE: A. Repérez la vis de réglage sur l’extrémité du ferme-porte qui se fixe au cadre de porte. B. Ouvrez la porte, puis laissez-la se refermer en observant la vitesse de fermeture. C. À l’aide d’un tournevis à tête Phillips, réglez la vitesse de fermeture. 1. Pour qu’elle se ferme plus rapidement, tournez la vis de réglage vers la gauche (sens antihoraire). TOURNEVIS VIS DE RÉGLAGE 2. ENTRETIEN RÉGULIER VITRES DES FENÊTRES – On peut nettoyer les vitres à l’aide de n’importe quel nettoyant pour vitres domestique. Évitez de mettre de ces produits sur les pièces peintes et les composants en laiton ou en nickel. PIÈCES EN PLASTIQUE – On peut nettoyer les pièces en plastique de la porte en les frottant doucement à l’aide d’eau légèrement savonneuse. N’utilisez pas d’abrasifs rêches ni de produits contenant du chlore.
