ControlWave Micro Instruction Manual (CI-ControlWave Micro)
Revised May-2011 Operation 4-5
ControlWave Designer online help
You must connect the Micro to a PC running ControlWave Designer
software and OpenBSI software.
Note: You can download an application either from ControlWave
Designer or from the OpenBSI 1131 Downloader.
1. Set the PSSM’s Run/Remote/Local (key-operated) switch or
Mode switch:
If the PC is connected to a Micro comm port configured as an IP
or OpenBSI Network port:
o Set the PSSM’s Run/Remote/Local switch to Remote
or
o Set the PSSM’s Mode Switch (SW1) for Local Mode (that is,
SW1-1 to Open [right] and SW1-2 to Closed [left]).
If the PC is connected to a Micro comm port configured as a
serial port:
o Set the PSSM’s Run/Remote/Local switch to Local
or
o Set PSSM’s Mode Switch (SW1) for Local Mode.
Note: COM1 has a factory default of 115.2 Kps (RS-232) using the
Internet Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP). Do not connect COM1 to
a PC unless you configure that PC’s RS-232 port for PPP.
2. Define the Micro project, setting communication and
configuration parameters.
3. Download the project according to instructions in the
Downloading section of the ControlWave Designer
Programmer's Manual (D5125).
4. After the download completes successfully, restore the PSSM
switch settings:
Turn Run/Remote/Local to Run
or
Leave Mode switch (SW1) in Local.
4.5 Creating and Maintaining Backups
You should always maintain a current backup of each ControlWave
project and keep it in a safe place, preferably in a location physically
separate from the controller.
The reason we recommend you keep a backup files is that if a disaster
occurs that damages or destroys your ControlWave hardware (flood,
lightning strike, etc.) you don’t want to also lose its control strategy
software programs. Otherwise, when the unit is repaired or replaced,
