ControlWave Micro Instruction Manual (CI-ControlWave Micro)
Revised May-2011 Installation 2-33
2.5.2 RS-485 Ports
Type 1 ECOMs include one RS-485 port. Type 2 ECOMs include two
RS-485 ports. For information on connecting to these ports, including
cabling information, see Section 2.4.4.
2.5.3 Radio Modem Port (Type 1 ECOM only)
Type 1 ECOMs support an optional piggy-back mounted spread
spectrum radio modem. You can order this factory pre-installed or you
can install it yourself.
The Radio Modem Port is COM6 (if the ECOM is in slot #3) or COM10
(if the ECOM is in slot #4). This option uses the FreeWave
®
Spread
Spectrum Wireless Data Transceiver, operating in the 902 to 982 MHz
range (20-mile range)
If you order it in kit form, you install this radio modem in the Type 1
ECOM. Figure 2-26 shows both radios mounted in the ECOM. After
you install the radio modem in the module and place the module in the
base housing, you configure the ports using the Flash Configuration
utility in NetVew or LocalView.
