Outside Plant for
Business-Critical Continuity
1
Description
The Emerson Network Power MC89 front facing line terminal block is a rotating block that
interconnects line circuits to the outside telephone plant. The MC89 block's swing -out
design provides easy access to both the mounting holes and rear terminal block for field
termination.
The block is made of durable engineering plastic enclosed in metal housing, measuring
approximately 4-in. high by 8-in. long by 5 1/2-in. deep. This compact design allows ter-
mination for a maximum of 256 wire-wrap pair. The front cover is designed to not swing
down and interfere with jumpering on the shelf below. Identification labels slide into the
cover and can be easily removed for efficient identification changes.
The terminal block rotates 180° for easy field termination. The rotation also facilitates
access to the mounting holes in the rear of the unit. Two (4 hole) mounting center options
are provided: 1.125 x 3.75 or 1.18 x 7.50. Cable bundles are more efficiently routed
through a cable guide bar on the rear wire-wrap field strain relief bracket.
The checkerboard pattern on the terminal block enhances visual identification to reduce
wiring errors. A slotted fanning strip with beveled slots prevents jumper wires from slip-
ping out.
Available in various pair counts, the MC89 block can be connectorized or unconnectorized,
and can be equipped with single wire-wrap, bifurcated wire-wrap, or quick-clip terminals.

Application
The MC89 front-facing line ter-
minal block serves as a point to
interconnect line circuits to the
outside telephone plant. The
unit is designed to mount on
most conventional distribution
frames or on the Emerson 2500
Frame Series.
